The Humminbird Matrix 97 Combo Fish Finder and GPS Chartplotter is an all-in-one fish finder for the recreational angler that offers incredible ease of use and GPS chartplotting. The Matrix 97 uses DualBeam PLUS sonar, selectable between 20- and 60-degree beams, or simultaneous operation to deliver both wide coverage and better bottom definition up to 1,500 feet with a target separation of only 2.5 inches. This fish finder includes real-time sonar at up to 40 times per second, and Sonar Echo Enhancement sensitive enough to track a jig to over 40 feet. This unit's high-speed, micro-dynamic transducer is reliable up to 70 mph, and even includes water temperature and GPS speed.
The 97 Combo has a 5.6-inch, 256-color, sunlight viewable LCD screen that sports 240 x 320 lines of resolution, and includes full GPS trackplotting capability, PC-connection capability, and a full-screen trackplotter, a 3D track, and a split-screen sonar track with an adjustable split. The Matrix 97 features programmable, one-touch view presets, a 2x, 4x, 6x and 8x zoom, and a TripLog with distance, elapsed time, and average speed. This unit also features fresh and saltwater set-up options, totally automatic and manual operation, a digital readout with a backlight, adjustable chart speed, and a memory that retains your settings. With alarms for depth, fish, and battery life, an instant image update, and a freeze-frame that pauses the sonar scroll for detailed inspection, it is difficult to find a more complete system.
The Matrix 97 Combo comes as a Transom Mount with a tilt-and-swivel, quick-disconnect mount system, for either Gimbal or in-dash mounting. This unit measures 9.75 x 7.25 x 3.5 inches (W x H x D) as a Gimbal mount, or when in-dash mounted requires three inches of behind-dash clearance. For upgrades, this system is compatible with optional QuadraBeam Bottom Scanning and WideSide Bank Scanning Transducers, as well as Navionics Gold HotMaps on MMC or SD cards.
