I bought this product after reading a lot of reveiws. This is my first experience with auto GPS device and let me tell you its darn easy to use. The POI collection is excellent. Great product....
Never get lost again! December 22, 2006 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I just got this little unit yesterday and, since I had to do some driving today I decided to "test" it by telling it to take me to places I knew. I am so impressed! For instance, one of my stops required a freeway exit that is off on the left side of the freeway. It clearly told me, in plenty of time, that I would be exiting to the left. One of my (and even more, my husband's) pet peeves, is having to get on a freeway in an unfamiliar area and wondering, "Do I got under the freeway and turn right? turn left? turn on this side of the freeway?" With Southern California traffic and 3 and 4 lane wide roads this is real issue. Not any more. Having the unit tell me that I will be turning right, or left, is going to save SO many u-turns.
The only problem is, keeping this for myself and making hubby go buy his own.
The C530 GPS is a junk! January 14, 2007 9 out of 24 found this review helpful
The C530 GPS that I purchased from PCNation less than two weeks ago stoped working. What happened was: 1, The touch screen stoped reacting to any input attempts; 2, I turned off the unit; 3, The unit cannot be turned back on any more either on its own battery or on external power. It is dead! I am waiting for response from the retailer and will follow up with their solution.
Buying Nightmare July 10, 2007 9 out of 39 found this review helpful
I am so sick of trying to buy a GPS system. I just wanted a GPS like the one in a rental car I had recently, instead I have to compare 30 different systems (and that's just Garmin's "on the road" Automotive category) across 50 different "features" not including price. I'm exhausted with the whole process so I settle on this model and now I find out it doesn't have "street name" voices. I'm always going to remember this experience as distinctly unenjoyable.
Demo Model?? September 1, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This model performs very well, but when I tried to install Map Update 2008 (City Navigator North America NT), I received an error message. After numerous phone calls to Garmin (their staff were extremely nice and have bent over backwards to help me with this situation), I learned that I had a Demo Model and that it can't be updated. Garmin is going to exchange my unit for one that has Map Update 2008 already installed. So how did I get a Demo Model? I have no idea, but be careful when you order these units; you never know what you're getting. Overall, I'd give the unit itself 4 1/2 stars and the place that sold it to me 2 stars.
