Great Remote October 2, 2007 The remote and PowerBlaster worked just as advertised, and it cost a lot less than other remotes that do the same thing. The DVD and manual were easy to understand and the remote was easy to setup. It works really well with my components hidden behind the cabinet doors. I only had to use one of the 10 cables that come with the PowerBlaster for my DVD player, the AVR and DirecTV HD DVR both received the signal from the PowerBlaster without the cables. I highly recommend this combo for anyone who wants to control their components from behind closed cabinet doors.
Powerfull, Inexpensive, Great Remote October 24, 2007 I am an electrician who installs remote IR systems, Plamsa/Lcd's, Hd receivers, etc..... I was turned onto Universal Remote Company by a friend who is also in the business, so I bought one for my own home to test. I will be buying number two for my theater soon. I set it all up in about an hour and even my wife who is NOT tech savvy Loves it. It's a VERY easy set-up and will change the way you view remote controls!! I will be ordering more soon for my customers!

Excellent remote October 25, 2007 First, the ergonomics are great! The design is more than a year old, so the pre-programmed device numbers were not perfect for all of my devices, but they were pretty close. All gaps were easily filled using the "learn" mode. I especially like the FAV channel option. The backlight is weak, so intuitive ergonomics are important.
My research showed that the current devices that can be programmed via computer cost >4x. I was recommended an $800 remote several times but got this whole package for $75 ($90 inc tax & shipping).
I wanted to buy a second RF20 for downstairs setup, but I have the same model of settop box in both locations and I'm using the RF-PowerBlaster upstairs. So I bought the MX-500 (highly reviewed) for downstairs since it didn't have the RF feature (I could only imagine the frustration of watching my channels flip by upstairs while my wife channel surfed downstairs). I wish the RF20 had the option to turn off the RF like the MX-350. Then I could clone them and not have to reprogram 40 favorite channels and their names by hand again! I probably should have just purchased two MX-350s... but oh well...
For the price, I highly recommend! Once I get and use the MX-500, I'll post another review.
PowerBlaster is magic!!!! November 6, 2007 This little device has made it possible to have all of my audio/video equipment in my master closet, while my TV is hanging in my living room... All without wires!
The base sits in the closet, and the universal remote "learns" all of my components.
I thought that I'd have to use IR repeaters, but I didn't.
All I did was connect the power to the tiny base unit, enter the codes for the components that I wanted the remote to operate, and that's it!
My closet is on the other side of the house, and the remote operates all of the equipment as if it were right there with the television!
Comfortable and precise November 6, 2007 I just got mine yesterday. I actually got the newer revision (silver instead of black in the picture). I tried using the built-in codes to program my components but had limited success. I have Sony DVD and VHS players, a Kenwood amp, and a Westinghouse TV. However, the Learning function worked perfectly. The ability to "clone" the Volume and other commands is nice since I use my Amp as the volume for all components. I really, really enjoy the ability to rename the commands in the LCD area as well as the component names. I even used the Learning feature to clone my Apple remote (for my MacBook).
The PowerBlaster works perfectly... I was blown away by how well. I didn't even need to use the attached IR cables since apparently it sends the IR signals with enough power that they must be bouncing off the door/walls of the closet. I still can't stop pointing the remote at the closet out of habit with IR remotes. Since the TV obviously isn't in the closet, I *do* need to point it at the TV, and again, the IR control for it works perfectly.
I'm very impressed not only with the functionality but with the look and feel of the device. I highly recommend!
