4 out of 5 stars Works great, a few Gotchas   March 26, 2008
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

The biggest problem I had was that half (3) of the LED transmitters were bad so that when I switched to using RF, several things didn't work. Hint: there's a hole in the transmitter's case which lets you see if the LED is working when you press a button. I called UR customer support and they were quick to send me 3 more LEDs.

Once configured, it works great. Highly recommended. Only minus on operational side is that I can't program unique power-on macros that will, for example, turn on only the DVR, TV and receiver AND set the receiver to TV/Cable when I want to watch TV. The better logitech remotes do this, but its a minor hassle to hit a few more buttons and everything else works great.

5 out of 5 stars Great value   December 30, 2007

I looked at a lot of universal remotes and settled on this one. I am fairly tech savy and this remote offers a lot of bang for the buck. Set up of macros is not intuitive buit can easily be done with the instruction manual.
The light is not a great as previous models but still usable.
Overall, it has all the other features that the more expensive remotes have just much less expensive.
Great buy!

5 out of 5 stars Great controller!   February 8, 2008

I checked out other more expensive controllers but after reading some reviews on this one decided to take a chance. This controller can do everything I needed without the big price. The range is great and works from every room in my house. Would highly recommend this controller. Save yourself some cash and buy this one.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product.   February 10, 2008

This is the best remote I have ever owned. It is the only 1
use and controls all my devices without a problem. Takes a while
to figure out all the things this can do, but once you master it
you wont regret buying it. The best feature is the ability to memorize
up to 40 channels of favorites. The macro function is great for turning
on/off multiple devices. Almost all the text names can be changed to
your preference except the main menu. The only down side was the main
menu where devices are selected contain 2 pages. It would be nice
to be able to rename and reorder the devices so they fit on 1 page.

1 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Directv HD DVR   August 20, 2008
2 out of 6 found this review helpful

Don't buy this if you have a Directv HD DVR. I bought one and then was informed by Universal Remote's so called help desk that there is no code for Directv's DVRs. I can program it using the learning function of the remote but then the vital 30 second skip cannot be programmed. A complete waste of time and money.
