Kinda P*ssed off July 1, 2006 4 out of 13 found this review helpful
I got them out of the plastic and they're huge; they barely fit and I'm a medium-sized woman. So women: beware. Also, the cord is LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG and drags almost to the ground. That's awkward for doing a lot of things: exercising, walking, sitting on the train.
Perfect Comparison to Bose December 30, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
These cost me 34 dollars without tax, and i can say that they are completly worth it and more. They cancel out all the noise that bothers you, maybe not the really loud t.v. in the other room, but enough to where you could easily fall asleep with a tune in your ear. I would reccommend these because in all truth there is no 100% noise canceling headphone on the market, and these cancel just as much sound as the $150 Bose, and they sound great, with an amazing amount of attention given to the background sounds of a song. I am listening to a jazz song right now, and i can fully hear the piano and drums with the still vibrant voice of the solo trumpeter. Buy them, and you will be very happy.
not really a noise cancelling headset December 6, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am not an audiophile, but I do care about the sound I hear. I bought this headset last week mainly for the time I spend removing snow in winter. I wanted a headset that covers my ears well, while sounding OK. I thought this noise cancelling phone would be a great choice, especially because my snowblower is terribly loud. Well, it does cover my ears comfortably well, but unfortunately thats all that is good about this headset. It isnt particularly great sounding, and the biggest disappointment was noise cancellation - rather the lack of it. It is hard to perceive much difference between NC being on or off!! It does suppress some, so I know it is on, but it can hardly suppress anything real. I quickly gave up any hope about its use with snowblower, but I then found it cant do much about the sound of my home's furnace as well - which is barely audible even without a headset.. bummer.
I have a Sony MDR-NC6 that I have been using for the past 2 years or so. It still works great, just that it doesnt have a cupped headset to cover my ear. If that is not one of your criteria, I highly recommend it. It sounds way better, is cheaper (at least now it is), noise cancellation works great too. See my review there.
Shoddy Worksmanship? November 12, 2005 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I got a these for my birthday (August) and now in November they are broken. The headset itself was fine, it fit comfortably on my head and didnt bother my ears at all. However, the wire has this big thing right in the middle for holding the batteries for sound cancellation, which puts an odd weight onto the left side of your head, as there isnt a wire running to the right headphone. Ontop of that the wire that connects the plug to the battery carrier somehow got twisted, and now has come entirely off, naturally making the headphones useless. At $50 you'd expect a product to last more than 3 months.
EXCELLENT product ... January 20, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After trying a friend's BOSE noice cancellation headphones I was determined to get something similar ... but didn't want to have to pay the BOSE price (unless I really HAD to!). I bought and tried at least 3-4 other brands until I settled for the maxell NC-II. VERY comfortable on the head/ears ... I wear them at least 8 hrs/day at work and they sound GREAT when connected to my iPod, too! Highly recommended! HINT: They can be purchased for about $12 less at Wal-Mart ...
