4 out of 5 stars Good sound, bad case   October 29, 2007

The earbuds seem to be good quality with a nice sound, particularly in the bass. Like many other reviewers, I had a ton of trouble with the wind-up case. After several tries with the chord getting stuck, I just broke the case open.

If you want some good earbuds with nice sound quality for a good price, these are a good choice. If the chord wind-up feature is important to you, I suggest looking elsewhere.

1 out of 5 stars Another bad product from Philips   December 13, 2006

This product comes with a ONE TIME container case. The person who succeeded in opening it was extremely lucky because the cord was probably not wound in a knot in her/his case. Sound quality wasn't so bad actually. Got it at Target under $5.

1 out of 5 stars waste of time, waste of money   April 1, 2007

How difficult would it be for Philips to put instructions on the package? I got so frustrated that I returned it to the store.

3 out of 5 stars Good Sounding 'Buds   September 14, 2007

I bought the Philips SHE2650 in-ear headphones when the original buds that came with my 1st gen shuffle developed distortion. I paid $11.49 at Best Buy. I popped open the plastic case to remove the wires and listened to a couple of tunes. It was a great improvement, as expected, without the distortion. Then I read the 15 reviews here and decided to give the engineer who designed the case a second chance. I placed the ear buds in the sockets and wound the case. After experimenting with different finger placements, I was able to wind and un-wind with some degree of proficiency. I feel I got my 12 bucks worth.

4 out of 5 stars Great for the price you pay!   October 12, 2007

These are great replacement earphones for the price. I am one of those people that has paid $100 for Shure earbuds and while these don't measure up to "that" quality they are just fine for the $11.00 I paid at Best Buy. They are definitely better than the earbuds you get with most mp3 players or the Ipod bundled earbuds. If I ever again need to get a pair of cheap replacement or backup earphones these will be the ones I pick. As for the case, I too had difficulty getting mine out but I solved that by just breaking the case open. I would never take the time to wind them up in it anyway so it's wasn't a problem fo me to toss it!

Oh yeah, the SHE2650's are not really the type that goes in your ear canal, so they don't have that soft rubbery thingy that sinks into your ear. Some people can't stand those. They look just like the photo but they come with foams to cover them for a wee bit of softness.
