5 out of 5 stars EB's and the REviews.....   April 6, 2007

I've had these headphones for a month now. One word: OUTSTANDING! You will not be disappointed at all. They do the job convincingly and then some.
I'd like to comment about the reviews on the EB's and the PRO 5's that the expert reviewers have given on these sets. Trust me I'm not knocking the pro's but I have a little musical background and want to share some opinions here. All the reviewers give the PRO 5's a better rating because of their FLAT response. In the audiophile world "flat" sound has always been considered the best way to go in listening to music. Example: look at your "highend"audio equipment, no bass or treble controls. So where am I going here, I bet if you removed the bass output on both the Pro 5's and EB's the mids and highs would sound identical, considering that both sets have the same frequency response and similar drivers.
All I am saying here is ,to those shopping around for IE phones, don't let the reviewers scare you into thinking you are sacrificing sound by buying the EB's.
Trust me,these things ARE NOT boomy. Boomy is the Bose IE Triports. Had a friend listen to the Bose and my EB's,and he liked the boominess of the Triports better. He said the Bose had a lot more bass. They are trying to make up for lack of seal in the ear setup, but very little high end.
If you want a little extra punch in the low end and not sacrifice the mids and the high's, then the EB's are for you and you'll save 40 bucks to boot.. IF want flat then the PRO 5's will do the job and then some, with a little more sound isolation. Joe D.

5 out of 5 stars Incredible!!!   April 7, 2006

As a vigilant user of headphones I was hesitant of using buds, so I did my research and found these bad boys. I wanted bass and that is exactly what I got, in spades. I will admit that there is slight learning curve of how to properly put these buds in your ears, but that can be fixed by reading the manual. The only trouble I had with the headphones was getting the right fit, which is essential. I found out that one has the put the buds in their ear and then gently rock them back and forth until they stay put ad you get the true bass experience. These buds also deter aby sound from getting into your ear. I have used these on a bus, sitting next to the heater and still heard nothing. The price also was a factor, if you buy these from Amazon and look for the other sellers, you'll find there are some sold for as little as $178.88, which a lot better than the usually $200.00.
My overall unqualified reccomendation is buy these because they will not let you down and are of high quality.

5 out of 5 stars Pay to play   November 7, 2006

These headphones rock. They produce plenty of bass without being muffled or dark. Fit is everything and getting the proper fit is crucial for these babies to perform. Although getting a good fit isn't that difficult, it is important. Stick your fingers in your ears, like you were blocking out all sound (but not completely sealing your ears like you were going under water)and that is what you should have when you properly insert these headphones into your ear (without sound). They will sound great and not be uncomfortable if inserted correctly. They give me the bass I was missing with most other units and they sound great on the high end too. If you have an EQ on your player, then you will be in heaven trying to find the perfect setting. I use them on my iRiver Clix and it's like a whole new player with these phones.

They are expensive, but worth it if you want some more LOWS. I highly recommend these. I agree that you won't be disappointed with your purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Music Like Never Before   November 2, 2006

I was looking for a new pair of headphones to compliment my brand new ipod nano when I ran across these on a website. I was a little hesitant at first because I don't think I ever spent over $40 on a pair of headphones. I finally decided to invest in these because I spend most of my free time listening to music. I received these the other day, and immediately plugged them into my ipod. Please don't let the breaking in period discourage you! After these become comfortable, you will hear music you have never heard before even when you are listening to songs you have heard thousands of time.

I started with all my heavy bass tracks, and couldn't believe how they sounded with these headphones. I then wanted to try some of my jazz and blues tracks to see how these tracks sounded. This is the first time in my life John Coltrane has given me goosebumps!

If you are debating on whether to spend this kind of money let me make it easy for you. If you are just a casual music listener, I would say just go with a good pair of cheap ones, you will save a lot of money. However if you are a passionate music lover and collector, these headphones will change your music completely. After getting comfortable with these, I would have paid much more than I actually did!

2 out of 5 stars Great sound, uncomfortable and goofy looking   December 19, 2006

The sound quality provided by these headphones is very good, although the bass is a little too strong. However without having the opportunity to try these on you may discover what I did the hard way, that they are very uncomfortable and you will appear as though you are hearing aids when you stick these ungainly looking headphones in your ears. Sound quality was great but I could not tolerate the discomfort and awkward appearance.
