Excellent, Powerful, Vibrant, Clean: Great Headphones October 3, 2006 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I don't know why some people who post reviews are so incredibly picky. For paying a little over 10 dollars for these headphones, they are absolutely amazing. They play loud and clean at very low volume levels. They fit in the ear very nicely and DO NOT come out with a simply shake of the head. They have a very nice clean bass sound that is strong for such a economically-priced set of headphones. It has great range of frequency response and the cord is a perfect length for any person's application/use. These are simply an excellent set of headphones for the price. For all you music lovers out there like myself, if you want to hear clean crisp sound right in your ear canal at an extremely affordable price, go with the ED21's. Besides, those that go farther in the ear cause canal damage and thus loss of hearing anyways. These are a best-bet, no doubt.
small price for big performance November 27, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
After reading thru dozens of reviews for different earphones, I finally gave in & ordered two pair for my wife & I. Turns out I made the correct choice! These sound great, are easy to insert, & the build quality is impressive. I LOVE the "rubberized" feel of the wires, they do not get tangled up nearly as easily as others I've owned & they feel like they are sturdy enough to last a good long time. Sound quality wise , they seems pretty balanced overall, no real emphasis at any one frequency. Perhaps a teensy bit reduced in bass response, but I think this is more due to getting them fitted right versus any real shortcomings. Besides I would rather have less bass response with smoother overall response anytime. Nice job, Sony!
Sony Headphones Have Bass November 4, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am a very active person, so I have used many headphones before these that could not hang with excessive movement. I run, play soccer, bicycle (not recommended due to safety) with these earbuds and they are right there with me every step of the way. The sound quality is not as good as fully enclosed phones for obvious reasons, but these are manuverable, light headphones that have great volume and good bass response.
I also recently tried a friends Bose earbuds that cost $100 and there was little difference in sound quality. On the other hand, when we run our weekly 5k he constantly complains about them falling out of his ear. I guess some people have to learn the hard way.
Great little headphones September 3, 2005 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I don't have much experience with headphones (especially earbuds), but these have been great. I needed a cheap pair of headphones while at a convention a while back and so I bought these on a whim and they have endured a lot of abuse. I just got an ipod and they feel a lot better than the earbuds that came with that (they hurt my ears after wearing them for a while). These have never hurt my ears. The sound quality is great from my perspective and for the price, I was happy. I just ordered the white Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia headphones so that it will match the color of my ipod, but I will write a review of those once they come in. Sony = reliability in my book.
The best affordable sound out there September 21, 2005 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I had the previous model for 5 years. Now I just bought 3 pairs of this ones because they are just great. Yes, they are big, 16mm drive, but nothing can replace the power that the size can create. I tried the hi-tec in-ear top of the line too.... not only they're kind of dangerous (to have a decent bass, you need to pump up the volume) but they don't look durable....and the sound is just not the same. Ok. with perfect fitting etc.... you could, but earbuds means ON THE GO, street, skate, bike, running....do you have time for microadjustements all the time?. I need my hands on the handlebar, not my ears.
Get this ones, they are heavy duty, durable, and wide range 8~20,000
