Unsatisfactory March 15, 2008 4 out of 15 found this review helpful
While putting these earphones into my pocket, one of the earpieces got snagged on the edge of the pocket and snapped. The little plastic piece that connects the gel caps which go in your ear is apparently very fragile. This is shoddy design for a product that is advertised as having "exceptional durability." In the course of reasonable normal use, these earphones are prone to snap. Make sure you keep your receipt.
Dissapointing from a company as reputable as Klipsch.
klipsch image earphone August 1, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have purchased and used for the past year three high end earphones Klipsch Image,Klipsch Custom 3 and the Shure 500's. In my opinion the Custom 3's have the best sonic reproduction followed by the Image then the Shure's. The Custom 3's are very comfortable they can be worn for hours the sound is very warm and there is absolutley no distortion at high volume levels. The Image comes in at a close second they are a very comfortable earphone but the sound is not as warm and the bass is less prevalant than that of the Custom 3's. The Shure's are somewhat bulky and although the sound is of high quality it is a bit to bright to listen to for long periods of time.
Superb in-ear phones August 27, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I primarily use earphones with my iPod, particularly when traveling by air, which I do a lot. The Klipsch Images replaced an older set of Shure E3c in-ear phones that I had been using for about three years. The Klipsch phones are very light, and I found that their earpieces fit me better and were more comfortable to wear than the Shures. They sealed out noise very well. Most importantly, however, the sound of the Klipsch phones is superb, and noticeably better than the Shure phones, any iPod earbuds and even my full-size Grado SR125s. Bass response is astonishingly good. These are expensive, but if you want something small, light and of very high quality, these phones are a great choice.
Klipsch Custom-2 Rock! November 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Klipsch. The company probably best known for very large floor standing speakers, including the legendary Klipschorn, now makes in-ear 'phones.
I ordered the Custom-2 Klipsch Custom-2 In-Ear Noise Isolating Earphone as soon as they were available directly from Klipsch. I was fortunate enough to try out prototypes of the IMAGE and Custom models this past summer. For absolute comfort, the IMAGE is unbelievable. The Custom series while not quite as easy to forget they're in your ears as the IMAGE are also amazingly comfortable. I have sensitive ears when it comes to sticking things in them and while I normally do not forget that the Custom-2 are in my ears, they are amazingly comfortable. I've used for several hours most days at work and my ears are very happy.
How do the Custom-2 sound?
Full, rich. Shimmering highs and thunderous lows. I've used Grado SR60's the past few years, which I still love, and the Klipsch Custom-2 sound more live. The music sounds more real. And there's more bass. The noise isolation allows one to better tune out nearby coworkers not to mention hear greater detail at lower volume levels.
Think you don't like in-ear 'phones? Try the Klpsch. I couldn't stand sticking 'phones in my ears but these are very comfortable and an amazing product.
The legendary sound of Klipsch that fits in the palm of one's hand or in one's ears.
As Professor Thump likes to say: "Stick it in your ear!"
Custom-1's not for me February 13, 2008 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
After my old Sony earphones broke (older higher end model, which I used faithfully for about 10yrs, the rubber around the earpieces finally gave out), I needed something new to replace them. Glancing around the Klipsch Custom-1's seemed to be a great contender to replace my old Sonys. I mainly use these earphone in the gym, so I wanted something durable, the cloth wrapped covered cord, in-ear design, and price was within my budget. Don't get me wrong the design is fantastic, and the fit is great--But when it comes to sound there's not enough bass in these units. The highs are good, but when it comes to filling out the lower frequencies it lacks. If you are in the market for some decent earphones, maybe the Custom-2's would be a better match, perhaps it has a better driver for frequency response. Other users gave Custom-2's a much better review. Custom-1's however don't fill in the gap for me.
