5 out of 5 stars These earphones convinced me to write my first review   December 21, 2007

I have never written a review on amazon.com, or any website for that matter, and I've been online shopping for a very long time. These headphones are what I've been looking for for so long. I never thought I especially had a difficult time fitting earbuds in my ears, but somehow these so much better than any earphones I've ever had. The bass is perfect (even though it is always adjustable via EQ for iPod owners), and the noise reducing actually is TRUE, unlike most earphone claims, as I can have my iPod set to half volume and I still don't hear my obnoxiously loud fish tank at home or people talking while they walk by me on campus.

Also, I can have my iPod up all the way on volume and I don't hear one crack in the sound, even on my hardest and loudest songs.

And once again, I CANNOT get over how amazingly these fit, just with the original size of the rubber covers still on them. I've yet to try out the other sizes, but if they fit even better, I'm convinced that I will continue to buy these headphones for the rest of my musical life.

BUY THEM. I would have paid four times the amount I paid for these if I knew they were these good ahead of time.

Earphones just don't get better than this. I can't even imagine how they could.

1 out of 5 stars Another one-bud failure victim   August 15, 2008

I played the numbers game when deciding on a pair of earbuds for listening to voice podcasts on my daily 20 minute train commute. Figured that with a 4-out-of-5-star average on 870 reviews my chances were pretty good that I'd get a great product.

Well, I've read the 1-star reviews and not all of them are by people who are sound-afficionados concerned with clarity, bass, etc. No, the majority of 1-star ratings concern a crackling and then total failure of one of the earbuds. My 1-star review falls in that category.

I'd had these earbuds exactly 3 months when the right-side earbud started to die. At first, if I wiggled the jack or held the wire a certain way, and remained perfectly still, it'd come back but only go out again. I became so focused on holding/wiggling the wire that there were times I forgot what I was trying to listen to on the podcasts.

Today was the last time I attempted the odd hold/wiggle/be still sychronization. Nothing worked. I think now it's gone for good and I'm down to one earbud, which is annoying and leaves me with mono-ear. Can't think of anything unusual I did. Just sat on the train and walked in the train station. Disappointing.

5 out of 5 stars worth the money!!   December 17, 2006

I ain't rich and I don't know high end quality so I can't and won't compare these to the $100 h-phones you see online, but, here's what I'll say, the things sound good enough to me, they stay in my ears during excercise and the price can't be beat! They completely met my needs.

4 out of 5 stars much better than ipods   December 22, 2006

Let me first start out with saying these are exceptionally comfortable ear buds and they come with three different sizes for max. comfort. They fit snuggly in my ear reducing almost all background noise without the volume having to be too loud. The wire is also much longer than the ipods. Sound quality cannot be beat for 26 dollars. Crisp, clean and clear. Only songs that don't sound great are ones with a lot of bass... had to go to EQ on ipods settings and use the bass reducer to get a better sound. ***Update*** Ear buds broke about a year and a half later.

3 out of 5 stars Overrated....but usable.   January 25, 2007

These sound terrible, and the noise reduction is minimal. Right now as I type here at the coffee shop, I took out the JBuds because I could hear the people talking next to me, and put in the Koss Plug headphones in my bag...the Plugs are WORLDS better...just sucks to have to squeeze them to put in ears, but now worth it, compared to the bad sound and noise reduction of the Jbuds. If you love bass as I do, and full-sounding music, then stay far away from these. For about the same price, I'd recommend the Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia or the Koss Plug headphones...better bang for the buck in my opinion.
