"Super Bass" is appropriate: it's all you can hear. July 5, 2007 20 out of 28 found this review helpful
Having just bought these headphones based on the recommendations I read on this product page, I can say that they do not by any means live up to the exaggerated claims posted here.
These are a pair of <$10 speakers, and they sound about as good as that. They do NOT, as two other reviewers suggested, sound like high-end in-canal headphones in any regard. While they fit comfortably in my ears, the sound produced is muffled with very poorly defined mid and high range frequencies. Worse yet, within 5 minutes of listening to the killers, my right ear began to hurt and I had to stop listening. This was not fatigue from the shape of the phones, but simply the sensation of my eardrums crying out in agony.
That such cheap headphones would produce such poor quality sound should come as no surprise, and had it not been for the overwhelmingly positive voices in the comments section here, I would never have considered buying them. I just thought I would set the record straight. They're pretty crappy.
Very disappointed September 24, 2007 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
I've been satisfied with the earbuds that came with my Creative Zen Nano Plus MP3 player. But I noticed the great ratings assigned these Coby earbuds and the low price, so thought I'd give them a try. They arrived today and what a disappointment! I think they sound terrible. They're described as "Super bass". But compared to what? Two tin cans connected by kite string? They are inexpensive and for good reason. Cheap, tinny sound. I wasn't expecting a $100 performance, but given all the stars in the rating, I thought they'd sound better than this! Sorry folks, but this Review Forum let me down on this purchase.

I love these headphones. I used to have horrible luck with headphones. I could never hear anything unless they were really loud. Not wth these. They are almost like ear plugs. You can barely hear anything other than the music and its great. The sound is really good, you don't have to have the volume way up to hear the music. You cannot find better headphones for the price.
Not What You'd Expect December 27, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I've had these for just over two months now and I have to say they are worth a bit more than what I paid. First off I must admit I'm no audiophile, but I do listen to a lot of different types of music: electronic, classical, pop, rock, reggae, rap... Through it all, these headphones have performed superbly. They can get fairly loud (I usually keep it lowish cause I don't want to lose my hearing), and have decent, though not spectacular, bass response. Mids and highs are okay as well. So far they are more durable that a pair of $30 sennheiser I bought earlier (cable sleeves practically fell of that model). The only mark against these phones is the short cable...its only about three feet. That's great for a player strapped to your arm, or on the belt, but frustrating otherwise. Overall a fine pair of phones for an amazing price.
Earbuds are not forever February 19, 2008 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I dare you to find a person who is still using his/her original earbuds. (or even their second or third pair.) Regardless of price, the things get lost, get tangled, get wet, get stepped on, etc. Thus, I'm always looking for ear buds that will stay in my ears, produce acceptable sound for activities outdoors where there's ambient noise, and survive routine use. If I want concert hall sound, I'll go to a concert hall or at least sit quietly in my living room with a big pair of Bose over my ears. For the price, these are really hard to beat.
