I have a set of 30 year old Superex ProB VI headphones that are still going strong -- the Pro4 line has been around about as long, so I figured to try them out. Audio quality is FINE, but these headphones only lasted about 6 months before something broke. Looks like the sliding mechanism on the top ate the far channel. These have a "lifetime warrantee", so I sent them back, but that will end up costing about 25% of the purchase price. No excuse for such a poorly designed mechanism... sad to say, these apparently are made in the USA.
Would not buy these again, sorry to say.

I would not recommend this "hi-end quality product" to anyone, even for my enemy! I had terrible headaches all the time I was wearing these headphones more then one hour. They heavy and the head-piece is extremely uncomfortable. Sound quality is not that good that I was expecting.

WOW! WOW! WOW! I had written a review about 10 minutes ago. I knocked the bass response in these. It was due in part to the fact that I had them hooked directly to my computer. Firstly, DONT DO THAT! Run them through an amplifier (and that goes for you CD/MP3 player users as well). Second, to get the best (and in my opinion, the CLEANEST) bass response, you actually have to hold them tight against your ears. When done, the frequency response in these is absolutely AMAZING!! Otherwise, the sound is relatively hollow. Of course, I have quite a bit of hair on my head, so that may be an issue (maybe I should shave my head). Anyway, wearing these, you are not even aware of the fact that you are not live and listening to the music in person. I HIGHLY recommend these to anyone with an amplifier (be it plugin or portable). These are durable as hell, come with a lifetime warranty, and even a nifty velvet storage bag!

I was a Club DJ for eight years and I've always used Koss headphones on the job and at home. This is my forth pair of Koss headphones, my first two pair lasted up until a year ago so I replaced them with the Pro4AAT and as a backup I purchased a pair of Koss R/80's. The sound quality of both are nothing less than superb. Koss also stands behind their product
with a lifetime warranty and will repair or replace your headphones for just the cost of shipping. There are plenty of high priced headphones on the market that claim to be for audiophiles and serious listeners, I've listened to a few and none can compare. Koss user for life.

After thinking about it for years I finally bought these headphones. To call these things well-made is a major understatement. They seem bulletproof. If you long for quality, buy these now. For all you weenies that complain about the weight, get a life. If you want light-weight, get some little breakable headphones and stop slamming these. These are for immersing yourself in the music. Nervous little cellphone users who are afraid they might miss a call should avoid this product. I listened to some Pink Floyd music I have heard hundreds of times and heard some new stuff. Amazing. Worth the price for that reason alone. Highest recommendation for ,mainly, boomer males
