 Very comfortable, good sound, not the coolest looking headphones... June 14, 2008
I bought these as a less expensive replacement for my circumaural (around the ears) desktop headphones and am very satisfied with the quality for the price I paid. The headphones are very comfortable once you get the adjustment down. Sound quality is very good. The sound does bleed a bit making them potentially annoying for your cube-mates (if you like loud/crappy music) and have virtually no external sound muffling effects. They also are not the coolest looking headphones unless your trying for that throwback geeky look. Overall these headphones are a great portable headphone choice, also comes with a nice little bag for stowage, but definitely not a replacement for your primary gaming/music desktop headphones.

I've never left a positive review about anything on the internet before, but these headphones are so amazing I feel compelled to say something. They are awesome. It's like being at a live concert.

I bought these headphones based on suggestions and reviews I'd read on the internet. I wanted something with decent sound and comfort that wouldn't break the bank; I will be traveling abroad for a semester, and needed something with which to enjoy my music without the comfort of my micro stereo. I wasn't sure what to expect as I'm not much of an audiophile, but I was very pleased with the PortaPros. They are very comfortable, provide ample bass and overall sound quality, and fold up to make them quite portable to boot (go figure). The included case and 1/4" audio adapter were nice bonuses. I am using them with an iPod and my laptop, both sound even better than my stereo with the PortaPros. Only thing I dislike is that the hook to keep them latched together in "travel mode" doesn't hold all that well.
If you buy them, consider getting some of the foam ear pad replacements to go with (Koss PORTABLE Replacement Cushions). The headphones will last, but the pads might eventually tear (they did on my old Sony headphones).

The item arrived as advertised. Also, the item is a significant upgrade over the inner laptop speakers I was using.

Everything from classical to Willie&Waylon sounds so much better than it does across airwaves from players or computer, or with other headphones. I'm back to listening to music again. Many thanks.
