recognize and respek this Yamaha sub! February 7, 2007 3 out of 12 found this review helpful
Me is well-pleased with this Yamaha subwoofer! For a sub at this price...I wasn't expecting much. HOWEVER, the sound has amazed me...it's an insane deal! I ordered it on a wednesday.....and I wuz enjoying the bass on Friday evening! I was going to use it in my bedroom home theatre...as a 2.1 system...powered by a really inexpensive, but great Yamaha 5.1 receiver also bought and delivered on the same day. I had some old but good Optimus Lx-7's...the ONLY Radio Shack speakers that were ever worth a listen. So, my 'problem' now is to get a center spk and rear pair of sats to match the sound of the Optimus spks...That should be fun and worth a lesson...You don't have to spend a lot of dough to get more than satifying sound system. Me is well 'appy with me new Yamaha sub and Amazon! Peace, respek and recognize!
It's there but doesn't stand out August 20, 2007 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
I like the size of the subwoofer as it fits in the limited space I have for it. It makes a small difference in the bass I percieve but there is no such thing as overpowering bass in my application. Maybe if it had it's own seperate amp it could pump the volune more. I have it turned all the way up and it's barely noticeable. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be but I expected more based on the previous ratings. Maybe I'll sell this one on ebay and look for something better in the future.
Dorm Room Subwoofer January 12, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I picked this up for my son's college system next year. I wanted something not too expensive and not too big with good bump. This unit filled the bill very nicely. The 10" speaker provides plenty of thump without being too overbearing for a dorm room.(hopefully) We typically use it at about the mid-point on the dial. All the way up is too much. We are driving it with a small Onkyo 20 watts per channel tuner/CD and receiver. Delivery was fast and efficient. Thump on!
Just what I needed January 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I researched online about an hour to decide to get this subwoofer. All I can say is what my wife said when I was playing with this new toy and she was in the living room, (the stereo/subby are in a different room next to the living)I turned off the sub and asked her to pay attention, then turned it on, and asked her if she noticed any difference, her response: "it has a richer sound." The rooms in my apartmet are about 15 by 15 ft. This sub works perfect and you can adjust the level of bass you want. Easy to use. Good deal.
Great sound for reasonable price November 2, 2007 I am an older person with not so good hearing but this rattles my teeth.
