 Less than one month, approx 10 hours of use, video failure January 20, 2008

After one month of light use I have intermittent video issues (horizontal bars all over the display, distortion on the R side). It was 31 days after my purchase so I was forced to place a service call with Samsung. 12 business days later I haven't received a call from the local repair company. Unacceptable for a $4k display. My 35" Mitsubishi CRT hasn't had a single problem in 13 years of use.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am extremely happy with the Amazon ordering process and customer service. I hope that this makes the "non-believers" "believe" that you can make big purchase online and feel confident that Amazon stands behind the products that they sell!
Here is my real life example of the best customer service that I have had from an online retailer!!
I purchased a 52" 1080 P Samsung LCD for a hefty amount still beating 25%+ of brick and mortar big name retail stores. When the unit arrive it was unpacked by the shipper and we connected the cable connection to the antenna connection on the LCD to verify that the LCD was working properly (not knowing there was a Cable TV connector also - no biggie).
Within minutes of the delivery person leaving I noticed that the cable connection was on the antenna and would not go past channel 12! Identifying that it was using the antenna connection, I proceeded to unscrew the connection from the antenna and screw it on the coax Cable TV input noticing that it was a little loose.
As I started to tighten the cable by hand, the connector broke off of the machine in my hand!!! Shocked that I could see in to the machine, my jaw dropped!!
I called the shipper and left an msg. I called the manufacture and they said that they would send someone out but, I may have to pay for a travel charge. I was a little shocked knowing that the LCD was less then 1 hr old but, I said send them out! P.S. it's been two week and still waiting!!
I then proceeded to call Amazon Custom Service. I explained what happened to the agent and she apologized for my misfortune and asked if I wanted a replacement or a refund. I asked for a replacement. She responded that she will note this on my account and forward on to another department to process this request.
At this point I was glad that it was handled so smoothly but, then fear set in. Processed? How long? What is this going to take or cost? Pay for return shipping?
Needless to say two days later I received this email:
"I'm very sorry for the inconvenience this defective order has caused you. I've placed a new order for your xxx xxxxx 52" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV. There's no charge for this replacement.
Here are the details of the new order:
Order Number: xxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx
For your convenience, I've made arrangements with xxxx for the pickup of the original shipment when the replacement is delivered."
This left me speechless!! They were able to address the issue, send a replacement, have a fast turn around and no return shipping cost!
I now have my replacement unit. I can do nothing but praise the outstanding way that Amazon handled this issue!! Their custom service far exceeds any other on-line retailer or local one!!
I work for a fortune 100 company that is the largest in the world in 80+ countries (in that line of business). I will be sure to share my story with my co-workers globally! I hope they all become Amazon customers.

First off the service provided by Amazon was exceptional from the ordering process to the white glove delivery. This tv is by far one of the most amazing pieces of technology the picture quality is comparable to some plasmas. The 120 hz feature gives the picture a distinct 3 dimensional feel. The colors are vibrant and every detail is apparent. It never fails to impress me in one way or the other everytime i turn it on. Well worth the money spent. Buy nowhere else but Amazon the price is at least 1000.00 cheaper and you know you will get quality service and product. By any means necessary get yourself one of these tvs you will never ever be sorry!

I recieved this TV about a month ago, and loved it, but like a previous reviewer a vertical line of dead pixels appeared after a few weeks. It started at 1 inch and grew over a few days to 5 inches. I recieved a replacement from Amazon with no hassle. I been watching the new TV for 3 days now. No dead pixels yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

I got this TV on 1/15th and watched it for 30 minutes on Standard Cable and dish broadcast, picture was ok for 30 minutes, then all red ghosted images filled the screen( Tinted Red), hardly could see people. i called Amazon and they told me to call Samsung. I had an Appointment for a service repair today on 1/21 and recevied a call from the service repair company authoried by Samsung and they said, the Tech will not be coming to your house, we have placed a call with Samsung for an exchange...it is a lie again. so i got tired of this BS and i called amazon and made an new order for a Toshiba Regarza instead off the samsung 5271. I did not want to deal with Samasung BS and the possiblity of further issues down the line. Amazon Promised a full refund on the Samsung TV. will wait and see...
please be aware of these knwon issues with this model.
