 Problem with Picture June 12, 2006

I had serious problems with the picture quality. I bought it at best buy and ended up returning it after customer service couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. other reviews say there is an audio problem too. I personally didn't have trouble with that, but be aware that there are problems with this TV.

I thought I was purchasing a spectacular product. The television had great picture and the sound options were amazing. However, less than a month later the right speaker began to cut out. My husband and I exchanged it for another.. only to have the same problem again, unfortunately after the 30 day return period. I'm now currently going round and round with the customer service department. They want to charge me more than the tv's worth just to fix it. Not only that, but I've never dealt with a more obstinate customer service department that tries really hard to make the consumer feel like they're making their problems up, rather than fixing them.
DO NOT BUY THIS TV! You'll be taking a risk buying any other Samsung products as well, since they just told my husband that apparently NO ONE in the company has the authorization to give us an exchange order.
I will be returning this set October 28, 2005

This samsung TV has speaker problems as another reviewer mentioned. The right speaker keeps going out and the power turns off now and again. The picture quality really sucks. No more samsung for me ever.

The tv is a good buy for a spare room. The remote and timer for the tv is very good. The color and the contrast are very good. The turbo sound makes it so that you have to turn up the volume to overcome the bass sound distortion.

First of all I have to say that the picture on the TV is fantastic in my opinion. Almost everyone who sees my tv comments on how nice the picture looks. The TV has a slight tendency to exagerate red sometimes, but that can be fixed in the menus, not that I really notice it most of the time anyway. I can't give the TV a perfect review though because one of the speakers on my tv cuts out every once in awhile. Unlike other reviewers here, I don't really think this is a big deal. Yes, it is annoying, but the tv comes with audio out (unlike some similar models), and buying a nice set of little multimedia speakers (which I am planning on doing) really doesn't set you back that much since the tv has such a great price to begin with (especially when compared to the sony or toshiba prices). The picture the TV puts out is easily worth the money, so I am more than willing to forgive the sound problems. Hook up your dvd player or xbox with component cables, and you'll see that you made the right decision!
