5 out of 5 stars Great TV   December 10, 2007

So far so good. I purchased this set 2 weeks ago for $2,900. I have it plugged into a TimeWarner HD Cablebox and a Sony BlueRay HD-DVD player. The set quality with HD is excellent. Very little if any artifacting. Football on CBS HD is incrdible. Hardly notice any bluring during the action. All digital channels are in 720 are very good relative to my Hitachi 52" rear.

It fits perfectly into a cubby built into our family room so I didn't need a flat screen and at 73" it gives a picture you can actually watch from 20 feet away.

Many have complained about fan noise and the lamp going out. I cannot detect the hint of any fan and time will tell as to how the lamp holds up.

The BlueRay is razor sharp.

The one complaint I have is the programming the remote. I'm not sure Mitsubishi could have made this more difficult. The use of the digital IR cable and lining it up to the IR on each device is silly. I've resorted to using my digital cablebox remote as my universal and gave up on the TV remote.

That aside, the picture you get for the dollar is beyond compare.

5 out of 5 stars Love it! Incredible picture and color!   November 13, 2007

I have had this TV for about a month now, and I am still in awe! It's like having your own movie theater at home. The pictures on regular stations do sometimes seem a little pixil-ated, but the HD stations and Bluray movies are just incredible. I read some negative reviews about the fans being noisy, but I have never heard them. I also read about problems with the bulb going and having to wait 3-4 months for replacement, so I hope that doesnt become an issue. Overall, though, I think it was worth every penny. They even brought it upstairs, and took all the packaging with them so I didnt even have to unpack it. Everyone that sees it is in awe of the size and picture. My kids bring friends over just to show them.

4 out of 5 stars Awsome Picture ... But...   December 17, 2007

First off, the picture is AWESOME.. The set looks sharp and the Netcommand once setup make life so easy for my wife. There are a few issues. Only 2 Color Temp Settings, Switching from one video input to another takes 10+ seconds as the set tries to figure out the Resolution. Sound out of the TV is only fair at best but most people will have a home theater so not a big issue. WAF (Wife Approval Factor) is off the charts. Several reviewers talked about excessive FAN noise, Not an issue with the unit I got. The only downside is that due to the Massive 73" screen, poor video looks Bad as any artifacts or compression become more noticable . On the plus side, Standard TV (480p) looks alot better then I feared. Not sure about Lamp Life as the set is only 2 weeks old. Construction appears solid dispite the thin borders.

Conclusion: Awesome Picture
Very customizable settings for Color
SO SO Sound
Great Looking Cabnet
Great Price (Approx 2600.00)

5 out of 5 stars Must be Back-Engineered Alien Tecnology!   December 18, 2007

I own a Panasonic 26in HDTV,(LCD) A 50in Vizio HDTV (Plasma), a 55in Hatachi Ultravision TV (Rear Projection), Epson Projector (not the 1080p} and a 73in Mitsubishi (Box Model Rear Projection}...Except for the Old Ultravision, these TV have exceptional images...so I thought... until I got This DLP! Where are they getting this Technology? With this Mit you have to hook it up to HD sources to understand how truly unique it really is...It's a 1080p TV but it will upscale 480i,p to the point where you cant tell its not 1080p. However, when you Hook it to a HD satellite DVR Receiver,(or a Cable Company HD Box} a HD or Blu-Ray DVD player and a Stereo System Capable of a HDMI connection..your movie going days are over! The TV has AI thats unbelievable, it recgonizes anything thats hooked to it and gives you options of how you want to set it up...it insantly tells you what channels are 480 or 1080, but the most amazing thing of all is the Picture! No screendoor effect and the resolution and colors are simply unbelievable once you have everything hooked to HD sources and the Colors set right. You have a choice between Natural, Bright and Brillant...Brillant is the Place to be! NFL, Movies and regular TV will never be the same. Plasma, LCD all the others, your days are numbered. Theres no comparsion if the DLP is properly set up...Did I mention PC, PS3 and XBox-360? Hookups a breeze. You aint never Fragged until you Frag in 1080p on a 73in TV!! On the Downside: Price is high but dropping and you cant leave this TV on all day like most people do with their TVs, you'll be shelling out megabucks for a new lamp in a few months. This TV is made for Movies and Sports not Soap Operas and Variety Shows. I wouldn't be surprised if them Big-Head EBE's first glimpse of Earth was on a DLP display similar to this Awesome MIT!!!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing   February 12, 2008

The only thing I can say is wow!!! Our last TV was a 70 inch Mitsubishi that got zapped when a lightning storm came through.
This TV has amazing color, is quiet, does an incredible job with non hi-def signals, the viewing angle is great, and simply put.... the TV has great room presence.
We ordered the TV on Saturday, it shipped from PA on Monday, and we received it in perfect condition in OK on Saturday.
If you are wondering about this TV, I highly recommend it.
