Excellent TV November 16, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased this TV a month ago thru best buy's website for $1,499.00 before they increased the price to $1,799.00 - should have waited and purchased thru amazon and saved some on the taxes best buy tacked on! Don't despair Amazon - I did buy the Onkyo HT-SR800 home theater system thru you :-) .
Can't complain folks...watching Dave Matthews Live on the HD-Music channel brought tears to my eyes (what can I say, it was AWESOME - and music, well, has an effect on me). May not be 1080p, and it may not be full HD, but who cares? The picture quality is great...at less than $1,500, it is a no-brainer.
Excellent Picture - Now More Affordable November 22, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I saw this TV on display along side a $4000.00 Pioneer. The Pioneer was better but not $3000.00 better. Prices are coming down on this model. I purchased mine for $875.00, and have seen it advertised at other B&M stores for around a grand. An excellent value.
WOW November 28, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unreal tv. Best $996.99 I ever spent. I have a 32" LCD and regular (non HD) channels don't look to great. On this TV though , non HD channels look amazing! I watched Surfs up and Transformers last night and I would rather watch this than go to the theater. I have a 1200 watt home theater system hooked up to it with 1080 upconvert dvd and I am more than satisfied. Watch Best Buys website for this to go on sale from time to time for under $1000. You will thank all us reviewers later.
Great TV for the money November 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I set this up myself. The only problem I had was turning on Power. When I first turned it on there was no power, I finally opened the manual and it told me about a power button on underneath the right front. Once I turned on power everything else was easy. 1080i is best choice for the money. My Satellite HD is 1080i, my HD DVD player (toshiba) is 1080i. I don't see the need for buying a 1080p TV because the only thing that is available is the HD DVD in 1080p. I love HD on this TV. Plasma is also a better choice for me because I need wider angle of view for the smaller room I have. I can see reflection of lamps and windows on the TV screen, but it is minor problem. I use a Denon amp with 7.1 surround sound and it works very well with HD movies. The sound from the TV is ok, but not as good as through an amp.
nice... December 11, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this from Best Buy for $996 (but I opted to get the $200 4-year warranty) so it was truly a steal.
I have basic analog cable TV, and it still looks great. So many settings you can play with, sharpness, black point, etc.
I got an upconversion DVD player for $30 (Magnavox, 1080i upconvert) from WalMart and I popped in Live Free or Die Hard, and it looked totally HD- it was great.
Your friends' eyes will glaze over at how big it is. Only problem I have is that you can't do picture-in-picture with it..that's the only negative star!
