GREAT price and fast shipping from eektechnology March 23, 2006 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
If you went to circuit city, you would see this is $30 there. Here its only 8.99! With fast shipping I only paid about $16 total, half the price of circuit city. Those type of stores (best buy, circuit city, compusa) are a total ripoff when it comes to these cables. Buy from Amazon.com (eektech will ship) and you save lots of $$. Thanks eek for great service!
Works Well June 7, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This cord worked well for transferring movies from a DVR to my Mac.
Also, while hiking through the wilderness, I came in contact with three bears. I was able to scare off two of them by whipping this fine cord around in large arcs like a whip. Later, after the third bear lost interest in me, the cord served as an excellent tourniquet.
Highly recommend.
Good cable, but beware no free shipping! August 29, 2005 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This Belkin 6' IEEE 1394 cable is a very solid cable, with a male 4-pin ("i.Link") connector on one end and a male 6-pin ("Firewire") connector on the other. It supports the full speed (400Mbps) of the IEEE 1394 specification, and looks durable.
You should beware of the no free shipping policy on this cable when sold by Amazon -- it does not count toward the $25 free shipping promotion. I used 1-click to order this and was charged close to six bucks for shipping. Ouch. Still, the total was much less than the cheapest price elsewhere, on the web or in stores.
Good cable; My bad March 19, 2007 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
As usual, I screwed up again. I presumed that previous advice was correct, without double checking. When I asked someone (I forget whom or where) about whether I should get the 4 wire to 6 wire, 4 to 4, or 6 to 6, which I should get to connect my laptop computer to my camcorder, they assured me that the correct connection was 4 to 6, so that's what I ordered. They were wrong. On receipt of the package and testing it on my computer (an HP laptop), it required a 4 pin wire. The camera also takes a 4 pin, and thus I should have ordered the 4 to 4 pin wire (which I have already done). That said, please check and double-check the connections you will require; don't just assume. The camera is almost assuredly a 4 pin. One usually has a 6 pin connection on a computer, but that is where it is problematic. The 6 pin connector looks like the standard DIN plug, but does not fit into same; the 4 pin is decidedly different, looking like the socket that is almost square, and can be easily seen on the camera. Look before you leap.
Insofar as the cable is concerned, I obviously have not had a chance to use the device. It looks quite adequate, being coated in a clear plastic wrapping which covers a quite substantial appearing twisted-pair braided wire. The plugs have an obvious strain relief at the ends of the plugs, and so it should be more than adequate.
The only reason I did not give the cable 5 stars is due the inconvenience of having to purchase a new cable, and the question of what to do with the one I have now. I know, it's my fault, but I had to take it out somewhere.

Same quality that you buy in the store for 1/2 the price here at amazon. kudos. Just be sure you check the devices you are connecting and get the right number of pins (4 Vs 6)
