For the price, for the size, hard to beat February 26, 2000 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
First used this camera at the Las Vegas CES show last month, all pictures came out perfect, including all the night scenes. I used the 400 speed film indoors and 200 speed film outdoors; had no problem with the flash by observing the maximum distances outlined by the guide. It's light to carry and simple to use. The only shortcomings are the tiny buttons to switch flash modes - I have to use my keys or toothpick to depress them. I got this camera from another retailer (Wxxxxxx) at a lesser price.
Great camera at a great price June 29, 2002 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is the first real camera I've ever bought and I'm glad I made the investment. When shopping around for a camera, I was looking for a few main things. It had to be: 1. Easy to use 2. Portable, not a hassle to lug around 3. in my price range (under $70)This camera is ,of course all three. I didn't know about APS cameras before i bought this camera. I've seen my mom struggle trying to put film in her 35mm and that made me want to stick with disposables and it also made me apprehensive about buying a camera. Then i found out about APS and it I was like Hallelujah! It was a godsend for a klutz like me. Just drop the film in and the camera does the rest. When I first saw this camera, i couldn't believe there was a camera this small. It literally fits in the palm of my hand. I'm a big girl but it'll seem small to you too. I carry it in my purse because you never know when you'll need a picture. It hardly weighs anything so it's not a burden. It's small enough for jacket or shirt pockets. Because this was going to be my first camera and all, I wanted to get something that was reasonably priced yet didn't lack in quality. Canon being a respected brand, this was an easy choice. I have no regrets so far with this camera and i doubt I'll have any in the future. My pictures turn out great and i like the date/time imprint feature (on the back of photo). Although the Elph LT has no zoom it takes pretty good pictures. I know for sure when I'm ready for another camera, I'll get another Canon Elph, but with zoom. Overall this camera is great. It's stylish, easy to use and affordable.
Tiny but not a toy June 10, 2003 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a tiny camera (a good-sized guy could hide it in the palm of his hand.) But the small size doesn't mean the Elph is a toy. No, indeed. The sharpness on the pictures is amazing considering that the negatives are smaller than 35mm and that this is not an expensive piece of optical equipment. (We used to speculate that Canon made the optics better on APS cameras to showcase the APS format in the best light.) You can have some fun--one special feature is that you can take 3 different sizes of photos (regular sized, large sized and panorama sized) on the same roll of film. Switch a lever on the back and go from a portrait to capturing the beauty of a mountain vista or a busy plaza. For a "keep it in your pocket at all times" camera, this can't be beat.
Beware the hype of APS January 27, 2000 7 out of 20 found this review helpful
OK. Its little, useful, goes anywhere, easy to use. But when i accidently lost the ELPH's battery cover on a recent trip to Florida and had to buy an emergency 35mm disposable for $8, guess which pictures turned out best? Grainy, poor color saturation, etc are my complaints of APS in general. If you're looking for great pictures, don't leave home without your SLR. If you're looking for something that's comfortable in jacket pocket on the ski slope, pick up a quality one-off at the base lodge.
The Elph LT--A Small Camera for a Small Purse April 22, 2000 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
The Elph LT is a great camera, and it is the cheapest of the Elph series. Being cheap comes with a price, though. The ElphLT comes with hardly any features. Mainly, it is missing a zoom. If you have a little more money, I'd recomend the Elph, Elph Jr., or Elph2. Otherwise, Elph LT is an OK camera.
