For its price, I'd give it three stars. With price out of my mind, I'd give it maybe a 1.5 just because you can at least hear your music.
The pads are ok. The started ripping after a few months, but that's normal from wear and tear. The frame holds itself fine--no cracks or bends--but then again, I've only been using these headphones at the computer.
They're not the most comfortable headphones in the world, but they're pretty nice and light. It's also adjustable, so you can get a nice fit. I can't complain here.
The sound quality is ok for people who don't really care about it. Personally, I found it to be a bit flat. It's better than nothing though.
If you're looking for something cheap, then go ahead and get this. Just don't expect anything extraordinary. If you want something with better sound, then skip this one.
Best bang for buck April 5, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
These are the best headphones I've ever seen for under $5. You can actually hear the bass on them, which you really can't for must headphones in this price range. (Including some that 2 or 3 times as much). The main downside is the length of cord is fairly short, so it makes using it with my PC a little akward some times.
Great price for OK basic headphones December 4, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When I purchased the CV123 combo pack (which buy the way isn't even close to worth buying), these headphones were part of the pack. As for as sound goes, it's average. It's pretty flat, no really big bass or good treble, but it's not terrible. They are also very comfortable, and aren't too big. The durability is pretty poor, however. They don't last very long so buy two or three. But for barely above a dollar, these are a definite buy. If they were more expensive then say five dollars, then I'd go for some Sonys.
For less than $5, its worthy of 4 stars! March 28, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My cheap $6 maxell earbud headphones that I used to listen to my German language lessons on my computer recently died. I was looking for a cheap replacement when I came across the Coby CVH42. For the price, I am very pleased. The earphones and padding do look a bit cheap; however, these earphones are comfortable. I have no problem listening to Music or to my language lessons for 2+ hours with these. The other nice thing is the cord is quite a bit longer than my old maxell earbuds, making it easier to use with my PC (which sits on the floor). Of course the sound quality will come nowhere near a Bose or any high quality headphones; however, having purchased it for less than $5, I really cannot complain about the sound quality. It is certainly good enough for the casual listener.

I use these things for the LAN parties I go to. The price to quality ratio is fantastic. I have broken a few pairs, but I literally have a box of them that I got, to replace them when I need to! For the price, Dave says DO IT!
