1 out of 5 stars Audio's okay, radio doesn't work   May 28, 2007
The instructions for this device say to turn up the input volume until, about half the time, the LED on the transmitter glows red. Any time the LED is on, the radio signal is massively distorted and monophonic. It's a shame, because raising the volume at the source is the only way to almost overcome the basic background hiss in the carrier. In an open room that has a metal object e.g. a refridgerator in it, there's maybe one place with your head tilted in one direction in which the receiver won't intermittently be overwhelmed with carrier-tracking noise, which comes across as 10 to 15 Hz flapping. One way to eliminate this noise is to plug the recharger jack on the transmitter into the socket in the headphones. Since this improves performance even with brand new totally charged batteries, my working hypothesis is that it provides a metal-to-metal path for the 900Mhz carrier and that overwhelms the free waves--but it turns the product into an especially awkward version of ordinary wired headphones instead of wireless. It's a crying shame too: the basic audio components have what my ears call a fairly flat and even response, giving a nice sound to piccolo as well as contrabassoon and tuba--when sound actually gets through. A pair of wired headphones with million-dollar transducers and a frayed, static-filled cable are not worth the time it takes to evaluate them, and I'm afraid this unit doesn't even qualify as the wireless equivalent of that. I would never buy another product by this manufacturer, as I don't think they quite get the weakest-link principle.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!   July 20, 2006

I bought these headphones a while back from a store called Factory Direct. They were refurbished, and I got them for only 20 CND dollars! And I must say, they are great for the price I got them for. I use these headphones for my PC, so all you have to do is plug in the receiver -- Pop in some rechargable batteries and go! Some reviewers have said that the headphones are like a 'vice-grip' -- At first, they are... But after a while wearing it, it will 'loosen' up -- I enjoy the headphones quite and bit and they aren't heavy at all! The charging feature is especially convienient. I would totally recommend this product to anyone seeking a good pair of wireless headphones, just make sure you look for the right price!

4 out of 5 stars Great Buy, Cheap Price   February 25, 2006

I purchased this item to use at night so I don't disturb my wife...It is a great product and has worked great, (although I had to replace the rechargable batteries as they were dead, and wouldn't hold any charge). The reception is good up to 100 feet with line of sight, but only about half of that through a wall. The earpieces are comfortable and provide good sound quality. My only complaint is that after using the set for any length of time the ear pada can become uncomfortable as they are very tight against the ears.

Very happy with this product. I am able to walk through my whole 4 room apartment without missing a word or a song on these quite clear sounding headphones. It took a couple of minutes to tune the transmitter, but after that I never had to retune .

1 out of 5 stars Advent wireless Headphones   September 1, 2005

I have purchased a few items from Advent a set of wireless speakers and wireless headphones I was pleased with both of them.
I can't say that for my recent purchase the AW720 The quality is not up to the standards I would expect from Advent. The ear pieces are skimpy and the head band hurts when worn (much to small. Idon't know if there is a larger set availible I didn' see any thing on line.\
I am sure I will have to replace the AW720 soon.

P.S. I hope this review gets to Advent as well!!!!
