Easy, comfy, sound good July 26, 2006 34 out of 38 found this review helpful
I've tried a lot of headphones and earphones (see my other reviews), and these are the best, IMO, for a pair of casual earphones.
They go on easily, they stay on very comfortably, and they sound good. The next best option, the Bang & Olufsen A8's (I had a pair of those until they were stolen), sound a bit better, look more refined and look sturdier, but these Sennheisers cost a third as much, go on easier, and are more comfortable.
Most any clip-on pair doesn't sound as good as in-ear phones, particularly the bass, but then again sometimes one would like to hear one's surroundings. I think the sound of clip-on earphones is better with more pressure pushing them onto the ear. These OMX70 are gentle, in contrast the more-firmer-clamped PMX70s sound a bit better at the cost of getting uncomfortable after a couple of hours. Also, the OMX70s take a surprising amount of power from my iPod, although they still play as loudly as I'd like.
The styling is gaudy, but my family hasn't complained yet. These come with a cool case.
Poor wiring - good sound November 5, 2006 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
The wires wore in numerous locations in less than 2 months. The gage is too small to hold up to active use. I would strongly suggest looking at an alternative.
The sound quality is good which is typical of Sennheiser, but they have to improve the materials to justify the purchase.
Good sound, horrible fit! April 12, 2007 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I thought that the over-the-ear design would be the way to go for a pair of gym earphones, but I've found that it's more of a hindrance than a help. The ear buds always come out of my ears - sure, the over-the-ear arm keeps them sitting ON my ear but without the buds being right into your ear canal, you get no bass. This results in a very washed out, tinny sound.
If you hold them in your ear (or if you're not moving), then they sound great - but unfortunately, my experience (over about six months) is that they just don't fit properly. The over-the-ear arm puts the ear buds at the wrong angle, which makes them pop out. I suspect the twist-to-fit MX75 ear buds - Sennheiser MX75 Twist-To-Fit In-Ear Stereo Sport Headphones - would be a better purchase.
I would not buy these again.
not a good fit for small ears August 9, 2006 13 out of 17 found this review helpful
I just bought a pair of these and took them out for a run and I couldn't get them to stay on comfortably. I have pretty small ears and have trouble with the over-the-ear style but I thought because these were adjustable they would work. Not the case. Sound quality would have been ok if the speakers would have stayed in my ears. The buds were also hard and not comfortable.
Best Sport Ear Buds I have found August 28, 2006 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have gone through quite a few ear bud headphones over the years. These are the best sport ear buds i have found. I score it 5 stars for type "Sport" ear buds. There are better sound quality ear buds such as some of the sound isolating type (Shure) but these are the best for sport's activities that i have found. I think for sports you need clip-on's so that the wires are not tugging them out of your ears as you move. These are very comfortable. Also the sound quality is way better than the ones i have been using in the past that came with various mp-3 players or i bought separately. When i put these in my ears i could instantly tell that the sound quality was very good. There was very good nuance and detail over the sound spectrum. The bass might be a bit light for some people, but I think the detail in the sound over the entire sound spectrum more than made up for some lighter low-end. I thought the low end was clean. You do not get the heavy boom, boom some people want. I guess you could crank up the bass on your player. The cord is pretty much tangle free. This is a big plus. I hate the process of untangling my cords all the time. These are supposedly water resistant also. I ruined my last set (not this brand) pouring water over my head to cool down on a particularly hot day. They are also quite comfortable. All in all, I am ecstatic about these ear buds and would highly recommend them to anyone using them in sports activities. Also you can hear your surroundings with these. They are not sound isolating phones. In many sports activities like cycling or running this is important.
