Amazon.com Product Description Sennheiser's Set 810 listening system lets you listen to an audio or audio/video source with wireless convenience. The system consists of a TI 810 infrared FM stereo transmitter and an RI 810 infrared stereo stethoset receiver. Simply connect the TI 810 transmitter to the headphone socket of a television set or hi-fi system and you're ready to enjoy TV sound in privacy and comfort. The Set 810 is also ideal for family members who are hearing-impaired, letting them listen to a program at a louder level than that heard by other viewers. For recharging, simply stand the receiver in the charging cradle and it automatically charges. Use the separate port to charge a spare battery (sold separately). The transmitter charging cradle charges the battery in just 3 hours. Automatic on/off frees you from worrying about forgetting to turn it off or fumbling to turn it on. Excellent head set. August 2, 2005 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I first experienced a Sennheiser head set (RI 250) at a friend's house. Because of some hearing loss, my wife and I listen to sounds (TV, music) at different comfort levels. The 810 set produces a wonderful, dynamic sound. Now we can watch TV together without having to compromise. Don't know how we got along without it. William Staubach Rotonda West, FL. August, 2007. Meanwhile, I bought 2 additional sets of the Sennheiser ... for the bedroom and the RV. Still believe it's a great product, and it works!
Dissapointed October 26, 2005 14 out of 18 found this review helpful
Given the expense of this item I expected a top of the line listening device but I am sorly disappointed in its performance. The quality of sound is average, it certainly does not meet its' advertized hype. One week after receiving the unit the left ear piece went dead. This headset is overpriced and of poor quality. Buy something else.
Awesome product January 30, 2006 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This product is amazing! My mother, who is near deaf due to age, can hear like a kid again! The only downside is that it only lasts 4 hrs at a time.
Works with HDTV April 26, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
We bought these for my wife's grandmother after replacing an old TV set with a small HDTV. She was using "TV Ears" with her old set but they didn't work with the new HDTV(to much interference). There is an optional part you can add to "TV Ears" to make them work but it costs $100. We preferred the simplicity of the Sennheiser 810. These are very simple to use--opening to put them on turns power on and they have a large volume dial. Perfect for those older folks who have trouble with small dials and buttons.
Listening System January 9, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
We bought this for my 84 yr old mother who had to crank the TV up very loud to hear it, which disturbed those around her. She was even starting to have trouble hearing it when on loud. The headset helped her tremendously. She put it on and was instantly amazed at how good she could hear. She was so relieved because she was worried that she would no longer be able to enjoy her favorite programs. I have other friends whose elderly parents are also very happy with the product.
