The HK 19.5 speakers include a volume control/power switch combination and a tone control. This 12-watt self-powered system produces high quality stereo sound.

Amazon.com Product Description
Harman Kardon's two-piece computer speakers combine style and acoustic design to deliver quality audio for PCs, Macs, MP3 or DVD players--any audio device equipped with a 3.5mm stereo output jack. Each 12-watt satellite speaker boasts a 3-inch magnetically shielded transducer. Nonparallel enclosure walls reduce standing waves for more natural sound, and the bass-reflex enclosure, using tapered port geometry, virtually eliminates exit turbulence while augmenting bass reproduction.

Connecting the speakers via your stereo output jack is easy with color-coded connectors, and illuminated front-mounted LED indicators verify the speakers are properly configured when the power is turned on. An integrated power/volume control knob, located on the right front speaker, offers intuitive sound-level adjusting, and a variable tone control knob lets you adapt the frequency response to your listening environment. You can also use headphones with the speakers via the front-mounted headphone jack.

The HK19.5 computer speakers come with a one-year warranty.

4 out of 5 stars Great speakers for the price   June 24, 2005

I have had no problems with interference as some other reviewers have stated. These speakers sound great at low, medium and high volume levels. You're obviously not going to get crystal clear bass out of $20 speakers, but it gets the job done. You can't get bass and treble controls on cpu speakers in this price range. One drawaback...if you're pressed for space, look elsewhere. These speakers are fairly large as far as todays standards go.

4 out of 5 stars Great speakers, but there is still interference...   April 6, 2005

No doubt that these speakers are amazing, and have great quality considering that they are pretty cheap in terms of price. They are very easy to set up, they look really cool, and the volume can go up extremely high, until you think you are going to deaf.

However, the only problem with these speakers are that every once in a while you will hear interference, which can include singing that isn't even going on in your computer, or crackling noises. But that shouldn't stop you from buying these speakers, once again because of their great quality, sound, and they are very cheap.

3 out of 5 stars Cheap for a reason   August 26, 2004

There's a reason these speakers are so inexpensive: they ain't so great. And there's a reason you should spend more than this on speakers: you enjoy music. Go elsewhere!

4 out of 5 stars Decent speakers but they need a subwoofer   August 23, 2004
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

These were the speakers which came with my p.c. when I purcased it in 2002, and they were okay. But the sound was definitely tinny, with not much bass coming from the bass. To really enhance the sound, I would strongly recommend adding the YAMAHA YST-SW015 subwoofer to your gear. It makes all the difference in the world. Amazon is offering this subwoofer at a very good price.

3 out of 5 stars Not great   June 21, 2004

I don't understand why these speakers are getting such high reviews from people. They're ok, but definitely not great. They get loud without distorting, there's a decent amount of bass for their price and they're cheap. But I think anyone would be much better off getting a slightly more expensive but better set of speakers.
