Excellent headset for the value November 2, 2008 I used this intensively for 2.5 years before it broke.
Pros: 1. I simply loved this headset. The audio quality was excellent for watching online episodes, listening to songs, and playing games. 2. This is not a high end headset, it only does basic stuff with excellence. 3. I has them on for hours with no discomfort on ears at all. 4. Very affordable (when I bought it, it was for $19 in late 2005)
Cons: 1. It will eventually break down and when it does, the speaker on either sides stops to work and then you yank the connector near the laptop and it starts working. You will do that for a while until it completely stops working. 2. The cables may be too long for some people. I usually had to tie the most part of the cable with a plastic cable tie.
Great For Everything May 25, 2008 This headset was exactly what I was looking for and exactly what I needed. The microphone is perfect, the headphones have fine quality and it looks great. I recommend this to anyone who wants a sweet headset.
Great for Gaming April 21, 2008 This headset works just as I want it to so far. The sound quality of the speakers and mic is good for gaming online. I must also note that these are the most comfortable headphones I've worn so far, so they're great for long gaming sessions.
Best Value for headset March 10, 2008 Hey Guys. I would just like to say that while a lot of people have complained about the short lifespan of many Plantronic headsets of about 1 year, I have had my pair of Audio 90s for 6 years and still going strong. Mic works great and the sound from the headset is wonderful as well. It's great for video-games, listening to music, and talking via Skype. Maybe I just got lucky with the set that I bought, but I purchased them for about $29 from Fry's Electronics six years ago (once again) and I'm actually using them right now. The only flaw that I find is that the wire is far too long which results in me sometimes running over and chaffing the wire with the computer chair, but even after that, the headset works like it did when I took it out of the box. The wire does have a fairly thick gauge, so it can stand up to minor abuse. I would rather have it be a bit shorter, but then again, it's easier to roll around the office and reach documents and such while having a conversation with somebody via Skype. All in all, I highly recommend it.
Saved My Life! December 27, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It seemed like a dream. I spawned into a strange world with nothing but this headset and an AK-47. Everything looked like it was made of stone and there was dust all over the ground. There were others who spawned around me as well, and there was this flurry of clicking noises like people were equipping vests and loading ammo before everyone started to run up some stairs and to the left.
All of a sudden, I heard the sound of gunfire. It didn't sound like the controlled bursts you'd expect from professional soldiers, but more like wild and crazy sprays of people desperately praying to survive. I don't know why, but I was couldn't help but go towards the sound of combat. I went up the stairs and to the left which led me to a short hallway. At the end of the hallway, I could only turn right. It seemed that everyone I had spawned with had died painfully outside the entrance to a tunnel to my left side. I crouched and slowly crept towards the tunnel entrance and was suddenly blinded by an incredible flash.
I couldn't see anything. I felt helpless. It was a crippling sensation running all over my body. Before I could regain my eyesight, I heard the sound of footsteps in the tunnel thanks to this headset. I could visualize where the footsteps were in the tunnel from the amazing sound quality and blindly fired my AK where my ears were telling me to shoot while spamming some frag grenades as well. A few seconds later when my sight returned, I peered into the tunnel and realized I had taken out the entire enemy force. This headset saved my life and won the battle. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
