Shure EA650 Level Attenuator January 3, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This product works great; it does exacly what I hoped it would do. I travel overseas often and like to use my own headphones to listen to the inflight movies but the volume is so loud it hurts my ears. With this device I can use my own headphones and listen at a comfortable level.
Perfect For Shure Sound Isolating Earphones February 7, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I always had problems adjusting the volume of my Shure Earphones because the dials on the players are not fine enough to get just the right level. This is the answer. I set the volume on the player and then do the fine tuning on this.
This is necessary for all iPod users May 13, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Because I cannot get any iPod to have a volume low enough for my ear comfort, I use the Shure Attenuator to control the volume. They do not want it used this way, but it is a true "ear saver."
attenuate and remove some hiss August 16, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I use this between my Palm PDA and my portable headphones. The output from the palm headsphone socket is pretty hissy especially with low impedance headphones. The Shure volume control doies a pretty good job at reducing the hiss - not perfect but it is enough to make an audible difference - oh and you can use it as a volume contriol as well.
OK, but too much$$ June 21, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I thought this was a great item until I found a volume control at Radio Shack for half the price. So it doesn't have the cool styling of the Shure, but it's 'half the price'. I bought 2 of the Shures...one for me and one for my 12 year old. Hers was broken after 3 months - hey, she's 12! Mine still works and I like it, but I got her a Radio Shack one and it has lasted her as long as the Shure already for half the price and does the same job.The Radio Shack one is a square box and about half the size of the Shure.
