Product Description Hi-Clarity Audio Y Cables from Cables To Go are the perfect solution for adapting your audio connections to meet your application needs. These cost effective cables are of higher quality than most standard audio cables giving you crisp, clear sound for less. The dual conductor is 90% spiral-wrapped, which provides shielding against EMI and RFI interference. The connectors are color-coded for easy installation and identification and provide excellent strain relief. Audio Y Adapter Cables allow you to split a signal or adapt from one connection to another.

EXACTLY what I was looking for. January 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
EXACTLY what I was looking for.
This one is the 6 inch, "adapter" version. If you want it as a 10 foot cable, you want this: HOSA CFR-210 Stereo Female Mini to 2 RCA Male Plugs ? 10 Feet
You can accomplish the same thing with various, more common adapters (of course) but stringing them end to end started to get a little ugly. So I went online and found exactly what I was looking for. What I'm sure most people (even you) will be using this for is plugging headphones or computer speakers to the audio-out ports on a TV or game console. If you're using amplified computer speakers with their own volume, perfect. If you're using headphones, you'll need to get an in-line volume control or else, as said in another review, the volume cannot be turned up or down. Here's the one I bought. Koss VC20 Volume Control
It works April 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The cable works. There's no loss in audio quality as far as I can tell, even using high end headphones. The End.
Hard to find cable, good price December 31, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this cable for my PCI audio card, which only has RCA inputs and outputs (an M-audio audiophile 2496). This allowed me to use my normal computer speakers which have the usual 1/8" male plug. Quality is good, actually great for the $2.99 I paid for it. If you were to buy this from Soundblaster, they want $15 (a testament to how challenging it is to find)! I don't think Radioshack carries it either, or at least I couldn't find it.
It Works Just Like It Should February 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very useful addition to my travel collection of cables and connectors. Walk up to just about anyone's home audio gear and plug in. I use it mostly in conjunction with an iPod dock connector to male 1/8th inch stereo cable made by this same manufacturer. Dock out gives you a better result than the headphone jack on an iPod in many cases.
Two major electronics retailers told me that this cable combination of female 1/8th inch stereo to left and right RCA male jacks did not exist and I would have to make my own-- WRONG. And this cable is inexpensive as well.
