A little disappointing! September 26, 2007 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
The unit receives wireless signals from my Panasonic 3.1 home theater system very well. However, volume level of the unit is disappointing as is the sound quality of the speakers. I had hoped to use this device on my patio to replace my old boom box CD player. At full blast, the volume is barely adequate for the patio and my old boom box has much better sound quality. The absence of bass is very noticeable on the wireless unit. Too bad Panasonic couldn't have coupled the good wireless transmitter/receiver of this unit with a decent set of speakers. I'll likely wind up using this unit as a rear speaker set up for the 3.1 home theater system since the bass response doesn't matter that much for that use.
Easy as 1-2-3 December 9, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Takes about :90 to set up and get working, and it's really fun being able to walk from one room to the next and feel surrounded by sound. Don't expect much in the way of power, but if you want to listen to NPR while doing the dishes, or just have music playing in the background, you'll be fine. This product is a lot better than the Panasonic it is digitally tethered too. The Panasonic SC-PTX7 is buggy as hell!
Great product for the money March 6, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It doesn't sound like a live band or symphony orchestra, but if you're content with so-so sound and the convenience of listening to your CD's, radio tuner or TV audio in any other room of the house with no wires, this is for you. I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up -- just replace the antenna on back of the receiver with the one supplied with this unit, plug in to an outlet in any room within 100 feet, turn on your receiver and enjoy! I believe the volume control is independent of the volume control on the main unit, so you can crank it up if need be. And of course you can just switch it off while your main unit stays on. All in all, a great buy for the money -- I might get a second one for another room in the house.
worthless December 2, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this at the same time I bought the panasonic home theater system. In fact, they recomend this product when you order the panasonic home theater.
But they don't tell you that the wireless transmitter that works this speaker is not compatible with the transmitter that works with the surround sound speakers that come with the home theater. The only way to use this product is to change the transmitter and lose your surround sound speakers. Completely unacceptable and stupid
