Accurate, Clean, and Clear December 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned a pair of these speakers for 3 years and am totally satisfied with the speakers' construction and sound quality. Their accurate, clean reproduction, and sound detail of acoustic instruments is stunning. However, these little speakers must be heard using high end stereo equipment (pre-amp, amp, CD player, cables, etc.)to be fully appreciated. Also, a sub-woofer is necessary because the small 5.25" woofer of the LSI-7 can not adequately produce bass below 70-80 HZ.
If your musical tastes lean toward rap, hip-hop, heavy rock, and other loud distorted "noise" these Polks are DEFINITELY not for you. I recommend that you save your money and buy something else less expensive. However, if you listen to well played/well recorded acoustical instrumentation, piano, solo vocals, classical music, and other types of music where accurate detail is important these Polks are well worth considering.
