Model Sixes were recently the 3rd "top rated" bookshelf speakers, by a leading consumer publication. They were described as "Very good and low-priced, with a long (10 year) warranty."Model Sixes are not "extension speakers." They are serious speakers with natural, accurate, balanced sound, as well as the frequency range and power handling to satisfy serious listeners. Henry Kloss designed the Model Six system to be the very best that money could buy. This system boasts a crossover frequency of 2000Hz, much lower than many other two-way designs. This ensures smooth, uncolored upper mid-range with wide dispersion. Such a low crossover frequency wouldn't work with conventional tweeters. But the Model Six system's tweeter suspension allows the "long throws" necessary for music in this range.The 8-inch woofer cone is larger than those usually found in speakers this size, allowing the Model Sixes to move substantial amounts of air at low frequencies for accurate extended bass. Most important, however, is how Henry Kloss "voiced" the system, carefully fine-tuning the octave-to-octave balance.Stereo Review describes the Model Six system as having "... precise imaging... an 'all there' sound quality that belies its amazingly low price... Model Six is an exceptional value."

Best bargain November 8, 2002

This pair of speakers is the best bargain I have ever come across in over fifty years experience in purchasing high quality sound systems. I really don't see how Cambridge SoundWorks can make a living at this, but I certainly hope they continue to do so.

have had these speakers for years, and they are outstanding. have surpassed my expectations, and just read that Consumer Reports gave this model a best buy rating, for sound, value, and their 10 year warranty. I've had mine for 12 years, and they play as well as the day I ordered them. thank you henry kloss- you make a great speaker. and now I can spend my saved money on other things. like my fishing trips!

I received these speakers as a gift and have been nothing but impressed. They have a terrific sound. Great bass and at a very affordable price. I highly reccomend the Model-six bookshelf speakers!
Best speakers I've owned- and a great value November 7, 2002
These speakers are made by Cambridge Soundworks, a company from Boston, who puts great sound and real value into everything they make. Cambridge was started by an MIT guy, Henry Kloss who was a master of sound, and very practical in his designs. He also started KLH and Advent. But back to these speakers - the Model six's are awesome sounding bookshelf speakers- not too big, not too small. My Ella Fitzgerald glides through them, and they seem to pick up every trace of the recording. I have a pair for the front speakers of my main home theater system, and in my study hooked up to an old stereo receiver, and in both rooms they sound beautiful. For the money, you won't find better sound.

Yep, I do not own the newer Model Six, but purchased a pair of original KLH Model Sixes in 1966!! Believe it or not, those are going strong to this day and will become the front speakers in a new 6.1 surround-sound system in our new home, under construction. Why give up good quality speakers, if they continue to sound great 40-years later!!! Henry Kloss was a TRUE genius, and his audio inventions over the years prove it!
