Take your favorite music outdoors without losing precious fidelity with the JBL Northridge N24AWII weather-resistant bookshelf speakers. Designed for patios, porches, and other areas with a roof eve or awning, the speakers are ideal for lazy summer parties, wedding receptions, and other outdoor gatherings, as their JLB-exclusive Kapton voice coils and Heatscape motor structures provide rich, crisp audio without withering under intense heat or whipping wind. And should listeners not have a suitable outdoor environment--the speakers aren't waterproof, so uncovered areas aren't ideal--they can move inside and use them as bookshelf stereo speakers or rear speakers in a surround system. The speakers even come with individual brackets for mounting on a wall. Each speaker includes a 0.75-inch titanium-laminate cone tweeter that reproduces high notes and dialogue at the peak of precision. The tweeter also boasts an oval orientation called Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS), which results in a wider horizontal dispersion of sound. The idea is simple: turn every seat, no matter where it's located, into the best seat in the house or yard. Meanwhile, the mids and lows radiate from the professionally engineered 4-inch WeatherPlas cone woofers. Additional audio enhancements include FreeFlow flared ports that minimize distortion and thump and a Straight-Line Signal Path (SSP) crossover network that divides the audio signal with minimal processing for a better overall sound. The N24AWII's technical specifications include a maximum recommended amplifier power of 100 watts, a frequency response of 75 Hz to 20 kHz, and a crossover frequency of 3,000 Hz. Audiophiles will also appreciate the sturdy five-way binding posts, which both provide a variety of secure hookup options and preserve the nuances of the source music. The speakers hail from JBL's Northridge E Series, which comprises not only floorstanding and bookshelf speakers, but also center channel speakers, subwoofers, and anything else you need to create a superior surround system. These speakers deliver a clear, crisp, and vibrant sound, with a richness expected of a higher-end speaker. I would recommend these to anyone interested in a good-quality sound but keeping an eye on price.

I went to Best Buy to test all the outdoor speakers in person, and these did better than the BOSE and other high end brands. These are the best speakers for the money. They have great high and mid range sound, but lack much bass, which is to be expected with most outdoor speakers with speakers smaller than 4". If you have the money ($400+) go with the Klipsch speakers. These are the best alternative.

I had a chance to listen to these little speakers at a friend's house and I liked them very much. They had distinctive high ends that could only be found from JBL speakers. The midrange was pretty smooth and clear but obviously there was not much bass from the small 4" drivers. Because of their flexible on-wall mounting/positioning and since each of them also has a 3/4" Titanium-laminate tweeter as the E-series speakers, I planned to buy a pair of them to use as surround back speakers in my 7.1 speaker system which consists of all E-series speakers. However, when I contacted JBL's technical supports, I was told that the N24AWII's were very close timbre-match but not perfect match for the E-series speakers and that I would better use the E10's instead if I wanted perfect tonal match for my speaker system. I think I will get the E10's but the E10's can't be mounted on the wall as easily and as flexibly as the N24AWII.

Received speakers with no trouble at all. Sound quality is excellent. Installation was quite easy. Would definitely order from WholesaleAV again.

you gotta love these speakers ! small but powerful----easy to connect and wall mount----or shelf ---- can be easily turned in the direction of whatever or whoever needs to listen to REAL music.
