 Can't Beat the Deal November 11, 2008
Hard to beat the deal to get two towers for 299 with free shipping.
I was a little disappointed when I initially heard them but the break in factor is very true. They are definitely better for the higher range sounds, and not as good with the mid range.
They also look great as well. Really, I looked around a lot for different towers and nothing could compete with this price.

I had wanted a pair of Athena tower speakers for several years but could not find them at the local audio shops. Lucky for me Amazon has them for a ridiculously low price. I read a lot of reviews before pulling the trigger on these speakers, and I am proud to say after you spend the three days to break them in they will blow you away. I was familiar with Athena's reputation for high quality speakers at budget price but I had no idea I was getting this kind of a deal. No wonder Klipsh bought them out. If your considering buying these speakers your making a safe bet.
You can't beat this deal October 17, 2008
These are really good speakers and for this price ($299/pair) they're a real bargain.
I was looking for a pair of speakers for a second setup trying not to exceed $250.
My main speakers are B&W 603s. I couldn't find anything I really liked for less than $500. I made a "blind" purchase by buying these without listening to them first. It was a bet as I couldn't find anything I really liked for that price or close anyway.
I have to say that I'm very impressed with the sound quality even before the recommended break in period. Very neutral sound, solid bass without being boomy. Good imaging. They're a bargain because the brand is being killed by Klipsch, who bought the group that makes Athena, so get them before they sell out.
The only downside is that if you are looking for HT setup, there are no matching center channels, even though you can use an Energy speaker with seems to have the same drivers. However, if you seat near the "sweet spot" in the middle you might not even need it.

Upgraded from old little sony shelf speakers to these guys. Sound quality is great and they look great too. Plus you can't beat the price for this high of quality speaker. I got free shiping which was great but the only downside to that is they ship FedEx Ground, who is natoriously inflexable with delivery times and will not alow you to pick up at other FedEx locations. So even though I have a FedEx Express location 3 miles from where I live I had to drive 50 miles round trip to go pick these up from the FedEx ground location.

I wanted to purchase the Athena AS-F2 but ended up going with the LS 500 instead. I'm powering these with a Yamaha. The LS 500 sound really good with the Yamaha because they tone down the 'brightness' of the Yamaha. I am not even using a subwoofer yet these speakers have a nice deep bass for music and movies. They are smaller in size than the original AS-F2 but are quite heavy. These have a clean finish. I would not trade them for anything else. I love these speakers. Got mine on sale at audioadvisor.com for $149 each. The rest of my setup include Athena C2 for center and a pair of AS-B2 for back surrounds. Trust me, you will be amazed at the quality of these speakers.
