 Misleading product - more insulation than copper wire January 10, 2008

Although I had high hopes for this product because of the positive reviews I was ultimately disappointed!
This product claims to contain 4 gauge power cables but in reality this is true only because of the amount of insulating material bulking the overall diameter. The most important component of the cable, which is the copper core conductor, is substantially lacking in this kit. I have some 8 gauge lightning audio power wire from a previous install that has almost twice as much copper than this supposed "4 gauge" wire.
Once I stripped the cable and began to crimp the 4 awg ring terminals that are included in the kit I found they needed to be folded over more than 50% because the copper strands filled only about a third of the space inside the connector. It should have almost filled the connector completely and a good pinch with the crimping tool would have done it. Not so.
Unfortunately copper is expensive and is apparently the reason that there is not much included in this CHEAP kit. I knew I should have trusted my gut and I will be returning this product today.
If you have an actual requirement for the power capacity of a true 4 gauge cable this kit will not meet your needs. It will however make the install unnecessarily difficult because you will be pulling over insulated bulky cable with no benefit for its size.
This is not a good deal!!!

If you do not want to spend a fortune on an expensive amp. hook up kit without sacrificing hardy anything in quality, this is hard to beat. It has everything, down to wire ties and grommets, to hook up your amp.
I really liked the shield-twisted blue RCA cable for low-level inputs. Keep in mind that at 17 feet of length, the RCA and the blue turn-on cable may be a little short for some vehicles. The 4-gauge power and ground cable are adequate for most amplifiers. The kit comes with a 60A fuse, which may not be good for a small amplifier with a 25 or 30A fuse. In that case, you will need to buy a smaller fuse to match the one in the amp.

The Product details say that there is 33 ft. of 12 gauge speaker wire that come with this package. The kit i received only came with 17. It even says so on the package. This is disgusting and deceiving. Will Not buy from this seller again

I've bought two of these, one for an amp in my girlfriends car which drives two twelve inch subs. The other kit i used for my amp to run four speakers in my jeep. I love the quality for the price....everything you could need is included, no problems worked flawlessly. Not like those other brands claiming one gauge and actually is a smaller. Would highly recommend to anyone....great kit!!!!

This kit came with everything you need. The other review says 17 ft may be a little short but I drive a Cadillac Sedan DeVille, one of the longest cars made, and it's plenty. I just wish they would've pre-terminalized the power cord. If you know what you're doing, you could run all these wires and power your amp in an hour. The insulation on the wires is really thick so you'll need a utility knife to cut that off. It's a great kit, especially for the price.
