Product Description The slender R300 floor-standing loudspeaker understands how important good acoustics are to you. Perfect for building starter systems, or for small to multi-room applications, you'll find a spot (the speaker only takes up 1 sq. ft. of space!) for it in no time. You can even nestle the R300 next to the TV thanks to a magnetically shielded construction that prevents picture distortion.

High quality starter speaker or surround speaker April 10, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Didnt see any reviews for these so... Extremely nice speaker for the price. All I can say is look for the sale at F..y's. $100 plus delivery for 2. I used these as my surround back speakers on a 7.1 system. I've also used them as my speaker B select for nighttime use. I have tested them as full ranged speakers at max volume and was amazed they sounded very good. If this is Polk's cheapest floor speaker, I may try one of the other one's. The next model up with two woofers has been on sale for just $20 extra. That's even a better deal! All I wanted was a back speaker and I got much more. Forget a cheap bookshelf speaker, get these. Surprising base as well.
Yes, great sound can be had at a bargain price April 22, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Most people who are looking into these are asking themselves, can they really sound that good when they can be had for such a great price. The answer is YES! Really, these speakers really are amazing with movies in 5.1 (along with the CSR center channel and R150s for rear plus an Athena sub for my setup). I have heard lots of speakers, Energy, Harman Kardon, JBL, Athena, B&W, among others, and really, these speakers are excellent when watching movies.
I turn these up when I have a family B-day party and the family is over, and they all come away impressed. You can let someone con you out of your money and spend more, but really, the value to performance of these speakers is incredibly hard to beat.
Great speaker on a budget January 24, 2008 The Polk R300 is great for home theater and good for music. Don't expect to be blown away by the sound of stereo music, but the mids and highs are good, and with a sub sounds great. If you want better, I recommend the Polk 60s, but they are much bigger and more expensive, so if you want a nice sounding small floorstanding at a great price, go for it!
Great Value April 16, 2008 These Polk R300 Speakers are great for beginning and budget home theater speakers. I am currently running them on a stereo set up and they are hold up great. I plan on moving them to my surrounds and using another set, probably polk's monitor series, as my main fronts.
These are a great value and you will not be disappointed.
Big things DO come in small packages! December 10, 2008 I acquired these at Frys for $60 each! and i'm amazed how GREAT they perform and sound. Like one of the other reviewer stated, they sound good even at max volumes. I've been using these as my fronts (in my room) and I really can't find anything to complain about...maybe it's also the Polk CSi3 center that just makes the 300s shine. I have these speakers hooked up to an Onkyo 606 and watching Iron Man on Blu-ray with TrueHD really sounds incredible (clear and crips with ZERO distortion).
For $130 (after taxes) I MUST give them 5 Stars because I got exactly what I paid for and more. I'm also planning on spending a couple hundred more on the RTi8s and keeping the 300s as my back surrounds but all in due time.
