2500 mAh is what the average AA NIMH battery has for capacity these days. A larger battery should have a much larger capacity than a tiny AA, in fact most rechargeable C cells have 5000 or 6000 mAh.
I wonder if these are just AA batteries put in a larger can...

Good batteries work well and recharge quickly.
Excellent way to save money August 6, 2007
If you have anything that runs on batteries, stop wasting money and buy these. Have been using them for years at work. It is wise to buy a charger that will charge batteries individually. They are often called "smart chargers". That way each battery is fully recharged each time.

I use these in an outdoor trail cam and they last twice as long as alkaline batteries...and in very cold temps to boot!
Buy these if you want to save a ton of money! They have paid for themselves 10 times over.
