Product Description KLH was founded in 1957 with one goal - producing superior quality hi-fi loudspeakers at affordable prices. Remember the industry legends of Henry Kloss, Malcolm Lowe, and J. Anton Hoffman? You can find them in the letters "KLH" (Kloss, Lowe, Hoffman)! KLH quickly grew to become a legend in its own right, leading the audio industry with innovative technology, products and high levels of performance previously reserved for only the more affluent audio enthusiast. For over four decades, KLH has been the benchmark for superb sound quality and equally important, outstanding value!
Amazon.com Review KLH designed its three-piece HT-9930 for people who already have a pair of stereo speakers and are ready to turn their systems into five-channel home theaters without spending a fortune. The HT-9930 brings together a center-channel and two rear-channel speakers for less than $100, a bargain any way you cut it. The HT-9930's two unobtrusive satellite speakers come with keyhole-shaped slots for easy wall mounting. Removing the grilles reveals 4-inch woofers with small "whizzer" cones for added midrange detail as well as a 0.625-inch piezoelectric tweeter. The center channel sports an identical tweeter and is flanked by two similar but slightly larger (4.25-inch) woofers. The black enclosures are quite attractive and belie this system's modest price. And, for the money, the HT-9930 sounds surprisingly good. Vocals, the most important element for a center-channel speaker to reproduce, sound well-balanced and natural. The center channel exhibits a slight--and, at this price, unavoidable--boxiness, however, and lacks the ability to render subtle aural details. The satellites sound nearly identical to the center channel but are not quite as rich or full-bodied due to their single, small woofers. But they perform atmospheric surround-sound duty with ease, carving out a large, three-dimensional soundfield. With the HT-9930, KLH has funneled its years of speaker-making experience into a remarkably good little add-on home-theater rig. If your budget is limited and you wish to dip your toes into 5- (or 5.1-) channel sound, it's hard to think of a better place to start. --Wayne Garcia Pros: - Sensible approach to easing an existing system into home theater
- Highly affordable
- Surprisingly good sound
- Wires included
- Removable grilles
Cons: - Lacking high- and low-frequency detail
- Limited bass response

Great Deal! August 8, 2000 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I am a college student living in a small room, but I wanted to fit my dvd player with some nice 5 speaker surround sound. These speakers are really nice, the best of the 3 being the center channel. I already had some great infinity front speakers so the rear speakers were a great addition (you don't need to have the greatest speakers in the rear) Overall this is a great deal, came within a week, with an additional $10 for shipping and handling.
i use these for coasters November 3, 2002 6 out of 45 found this review helpful
all my life i have loved audio. my dream was to buy a large scale system that sounded good. With a tight budget of only 5,000 dollars (US), i began to construct this thing. Epos LS12's were my mains, and five granite audio monoblock amps. then it came to surrounds. these klh's came free. dont even hook these up kids. overall they must have a frequency responce of 900-901Hz. what i mean is, they have no bass, bairly midrange, no highs.
Not bad for the price May 28, 2005 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
I got these speakers for $15 brand new, the shipping was $15
total cost $30- got them off ebay, NO ONE ELSE HAD BIDDED got them hooked up to a 600wt kenwood, pushing 100 per channel
you will need to set the rear speakers a little high to get the most out of them, the center speaker is EXCELLENT-
I GOT THE MATCHING front speakers the KLH with the swivel heads and a Jenson 12in subwoofer and i paid less than $200 for all 6 speakers, bought a new kenwood 805 for $129- shipping
and my system sounds great and i didn't pay a fortune, if are like 99% of most folks , who just want some nice sound when they watch a dvd or movie, this is great, for those who need to spend $1000 for a system go ahead - as Tupac used to say:
"I Ain't Mad at you"
it took me 3 weeks to find everything i wanted off EBAY and all of it is NEW
I LOVE THIS SYSTEM, ESP since it didnt cost me an arm and a leg
Surround at its Best July 29, 2000 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
These speakers have provided me and many of family and friends with an enjoyable setting many times. These speakers have given us the best in quality for our surround sound system. I have enjoyed them emmensly and hope you will too because this is a great selection and I am glad to have bought them!
nice for the price February 22, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought these as an an entry into 5.1 channel sound. The set tis hooked up to a technics dolby pro receiver with KLH main speakers. It would still benefit greatly from what will surely be my next purchase a subwoofer for the lower power ranges. All in all a lovely, reasonable way to get ones' toes in the water. Although it should be mentioned that the center speaker is a bit of a hog and needs to be corraled so the less powerful surround speakers aren't overwhelmed. By the way this set was $... dollars cheaper at ... than at a so-called bargain electronic outfit. Nice going .... Now get in a subwoofer so I can be a happy woman.
