Product Description The Dayton Audio SUB-120 is the perfect subwoofer for medium to large home theaters or listening rooms. A 150 watt amp, long-throw front firing 12" driver, and dual rear ports produce impressively deep and powerful bass. The amplifier features high and low level inputs, filtered high and low level outputs, phase switch, volume control, auto on/off (activated by an input signal) and a variable 12 dB/octave electronic low pass filter. This subwoofer reproduces serious low-frequency bass that will rival the performance of much more expensive subwoofers. Specifications: *12" long throw woofer *150 watt amp *Low pass filter: 40~180 Hz, 12 dB/octave *Frequency response: 25-180 Hz *Exterior dimensions: 14-3/4" W x 17-5/8" H x 18" D.

Incredible Buy! October 29, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've been around speakers for many years, both as a recording musician and a hi-fi nut. This product really surprised me. It's not near as flabby as I would have expected from the price. Bass is very nice, tight and complements my JBL's very well. It works equally well with all types of program material, CD's, DVD,s, VHS, MP3, FM, LP, etc. I would have easily paid 3 times as much to get sound this good. I'd read reviews on other websites and took the plunge. I highly recommend this sub for those on a budget, or even those willing to spend more. The box is pretty generic, just a black ash covering over acoustic plywood, but it fits everywhere. That's the only downside and I don't think of that as much of an issue. Check it out!
Good Budget Subwoofers!!! January 29, 2008 1 out of 12 found this review helpful
I purchased two of these originally to replace two aging BIC subwoofers ( V1200 & V1210R). After receiving them I swapped the factory Dayton amps with a pair of their SA240(240 watts @ 4ohms with 24 db/octave xover)subwoofer amps. They made a huge difference in the sound performance of these powered subs. I also replaced the factory subwoofer speakers for two Infinity Reference 1250W subwoofers. I also added 1.5 lbs of polyfill stuffing in each enclosure. Now, I must say this was a much needed improvement over factory. I've enjoyed my new subs so much, that I've just recently placed another order for two more SUB120's powered subs. I will be upgrading the amps and speakers soon. Currently, I have an 12 speaker home theater system. One good feature on both the factory sub120 amp and the Dayton SA240 amps is they have both input and output jacks so you can run a chain of powered subs. Which is what I'm doing. I have a total of 5 powered subs along with 7 other speakers in my system (Front L/R, Cntr, Surround L/R and Rear Surround L/R + 5 LFE powered Subwoofers).
