Excellent Speaker. August 5, 2008
I bought two (2) of these to use as FRONT stereo speakers for my bedroom system powered by an Onkyo 304 High Current 65W 5.1 receiver. 'Why FRONT speakers?' you may ask; I wanted the additional mid-range area to beef up the performance my single 5-1/4 inch w/tweeter JBL Northridge E20s were putting out. Placed on the short end of the cabinet, these speakers were successful in that respect, plus achieved a more defined high frequency response as well. Not as 'smooth' as the JBLs, BUT giving a more airy 'sound stage' with good instrument placement for orchestral works. They can sound a bit 'bright' but you can compensate with the tone controls on your receiver--if you have them. Pair these with a good, basic 8-10 inch subwoofer and you've got it all! Bought on the cheap [for $10.00 plus S+H] as refurbs directly from TSC I got my money's worth and more with these speakers. (See my review on TSC's P6-PRs BEFORE you buy them.)
