Product Description Super compact and portable! This small one piece speaker system is one of our "Audio Traveler"" speaker series. Great for laptops, MP3's and other portable audio devices. The dual 1" titanium drivers produce a great sound for such a compact device. Powered by the AC/DC adapter this speaker can also work with 4 "AA" batteries (not included). Complete with connection cable and a travel carry pouch the CA-MP30 is a great little speaker.

Excellent balance of portability, sound quality and price July 19, 2007 I wanted a small, portable speaker that I could keep in my backpack and this speaker fit the bill. And, I didn't want to spend a lot. While you won't be able to host a rave for 100 people with this speaker, you will be able to fill an good size room in a house with clear, detailed sound. Highs are pretty good, mid range is strong and the bass is surprisingly full. If the bass was any better, I would have give 5 stars instead of 4.
Disappointed March 21, 2007 I only purchased this product because of the positive reviews I read on Amazon. The first time I tried the speakers with my new MP3 player I was disappointed. I did not expect high fidelity, but I also did not expect obvious distortion when playing classical music at a very moderate volume level. I tried adjusting the volume using both the volume control on the speakers and the volume control on my MP3 player, and either way I heard noticeable high frequency background distortion, sort of a slight buzzing sound. Maybe the unit I got was defective. I don't know, but I sent it back immediately. I would not recommend this product.
Very decent! I should know... January 10, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm an audio engineer by trade and the specs for these speakers are pretty good for what they are, as I measured them. More importantly they sound rich with fairly accurate bass reproduction and the two mid/high range speskers sound crisp and clean. They don't crank, then again they are 3 inch drivers, don't expect to rock out. Although for the size they do a fine job. As far as portables that are reasonably priced, I recomend them.
Great value January 19, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a very nice little speaker system. It looks fine and sounds very good considering the small size and low cost. Actually it sounds better than I expected. Sure you can't pump up the bass but that's not what I bought this for. I have a real stereo for that. I use this with my Walkman to listen to music while I read and its perfect. I also loved the fact that an AC adaptor is included in the package. It also comes with a little carry pouch which is nice. Excellent value for thirty-five bucks.
Great value in the Travel speaker segment September 12, 2005 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Comes with all the accessories you need to power and connect the unit. Having tried/demoed travel speaker solutions from Sony, Panasonic, Creative Travelsound, I have to say that this unit beats them in value and OVERALL sound (I am not comparing this unit to iPod solutions). The mids are clear, highs are bright but enjoyable, and the mid bass is decent. The MP30 sounds good with acoustic instruments, but like other units in its class, distorts easily to music with deep bass. Turning down the volume is necessary for music with lots of bass. I also found that completely plugging the bass port (the hole under the blue LED) on the unit with Kleenex reduced bass distortion, and allowed for louder playback. The unit plays slightly louder with the AC adaptor.
Likes: small size, can playback pretty loud, comes with volume control, includes AC adaptor, good overall sound, excellent battery life (at least 15+ hours)
Dislikes: Butt-ugly design, fit and finish could be better, battery compartment is tight and may have trouble fitting some fatter batteries.
