Product Description With the growing popularity of broadband cable, cable modems and off-air HDTV antennas, there are a number of obstacles that can degrade signal performance, such as when a cable is split into multiple paths, long cable runs, or by having multiple TV sets or broadband devices in a home. Choosing the right amplifier helps protect the integrity of your entertainment signal. The TERK AMP-15 is designed specifically to ensure a quality broadband cable, cable modem or off-air HDTV antenna signal. In addition, the AMP-15 supports two-way communication - required for broadband cable devices - traditional amplifiers don't.The TERK AMP-15 is a high-performance 15dB amplifier designed specifically to improve the signal strength needed for broadband cable and UHF/VHF/FM/HDTV antenna reception, and guarantees quality signal levels for longer cable runs. It allows for the two-way cable communication required for broadband cable devices via a passive return - traditional amplifiers block the communication from a PC back to the Internet or from a cable box back to the service provider. For the best results, and to prevent signal degradation, the AMP-15 should be installed where the cable service or off-air antenna first enters the home - before it is split to multiple paths.

Terk 15db broadband cable amplifier October 3, 2006 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Exactly what I needed. After trying other amps, which did not improve my reception significantly, I installed this one and now my entire cable experience is perfect. ALL the digital channels and premium movie channels have no more block noise and [audio / video] dropouts.
Also, not in the manual, the unit may be powered through a "power injector" downstream from the amp. This really simplifies the installation, as the power supply does not have to be local to the amp.
Overall, a very fine product.
15dB Broadband Cable Amplifier....OK in my book March 8, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Product worked as expected. It improved picture quality on all TVs in my home and boosted cable broadband performance at the same time. Just hook it up where cable enters your home and forget it.
Only two problems I had. 1 - The plastic clam shell it comes in is a pain to open. 2 - The power line is a coax cable. So while the picture looks like the amplifier functions as a splitter, the extra port is for power only.
Otherwise, it's worth the money.

Made my sad eyes smile with much much clearer pictures. Easy to install and built tough.
Well worth the money July 5, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was getting fuzzy analog channels, digital channels that would break apart, and my cable modem would sometimes loose its connection. I have maybe a 100-foot run from the attic to the cable signal consumers. My cable modem was reporting a -17 dBmV signal level where -15 is the spec'ed minimum. After installing this product, my cable modem reports -4 dBmV and a +4 dB improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio. All of my signal quality problems went away. I bought the right thing. I would encourage people with poor signal to also make sure that your cabling is good. RG6 cable should be used, and that there aren't any cuts in the cabling.

I was disappointed in this product. When I attached it at the cable source it created probles for my broadband connection and living TV set. I did install it at my TV on the second floor where I was originally having signal deterioration and it worked for awhile. I would first suggest having your cable company in and "tweak" your cable throughput - it shouldn't cost you anything other than sitting around waiting for a service call. I no longer have it installed and will resell it on ebay.
