Product Description
As your source for digital home entertainment, Toshiba offers one of the most extensive television lineups in the industry. Whether you're looking for the latest in HDTV, the flattest FST Pure flat-screen TVs, or the highest quality in portable televisions, Toshiba has what you want.

Amazon.com Product Description
Who says digital television has to be complicated? Toshiba's 65H93 integrated HDTV is ready to receive and render full 1080i off-air high-definition programming, right out of the box. It's also a feature-rich, high-resolution display for the very best home-theater components, including progressive-scan DVD players, DVRs, satellite receivers, and camcorders. And, measuring 65 inches across its 16:9 widescreen dimension, the 65H93 offers one of the largest available pictures. It even comes with its own cabinet, which conveniently splits in two for easy installation.

The included Gemstar interactive program guide shows program data on both digital and analog channels, from both terrestrial and cable sources. It can even control external recording devices for one-touch recording. You can feed the set custom programming, too: the front panel features a multicard flash-memory slot with a built-in JPEG photo viewer so you enjoy digital photos right off your Secure Digital and SmartMedia flash cards.

The set's TruView feature combines several enhancements (black level expansion, fine white, flesh tone correction, and color detail enhancer) to automatically display accurate picture and color details. Also automated, HD Dynamic Contrast continually analyzes picture information and sharpens and deepens those parts of the picture with the most detailed information.

And since not everything you watch will be high-definition in origin (wouldn't that be nice), CrystalScan HDSC upconverts all video signals (including 480i/p) to 1080i HD. This significantly reduces jagged-line artifacts for a smoother, more natural image. (Selectable 540p, for those who want a progressive-scan image from a progressive-scan source, is available through the onscreen menu.) CableClear DNR+ Digital Noise Reduction circuitry optimizes poor NTSC signals from antenna or cable by eliminating video noise (snow).

Meanwhile, DFine high-speed velocity-scan modulation improves the definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas.

A 3D Y/C (4 MB, 10-bit) digital comb filter with Vertical Contour Correction processes RF and composite-video signals, reducing detail noise (seen as shimmering or flicker) in complex scenes. TouchFocus digital convergence creates perfect corner-to-corner focus at the press of a button, and Cinema Mode (3:2 pulldown) circuitry identifies film-based content from DVDs and reassembles the frame sequence to more accurately reproduce a movie's original 24-frame rate. This eliminates artifacts and leaves you with sharp, accurate full-frame progressive images.

The 65H93 is loaded with connections of all stripes, including a DVI HDTV input--handy if you're using it in conjunction with an existing DTV set-top box. Dual ColorStream component-video inputs accommodate compatible high-resolution devices, while standard composite-, S-video, and RF inputs handle everything else you might want to connect.

For audio, the 20-watts-per-channel 65H93 offers SRS WOW, combining SRS 3D, TruBass (which boosts low-frequency perception for dramatic bass effects), and Focus (which raises the perceived sound image vertically to clarify voices) to enhance your home-theater sound. StableSound maintains television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal, and Toshiba's Sub Bass System (SBS) boosts a program's low-end audio for additional dramatic impact.

The set's TheaterNet Icon IR control system takes TheaterLink IR passthrough capability to new heights through the use of onscreen icons and virtual control bars to operate source devices such as a VCRs or DVD players--even if those components are hidden from view.

What's in the Box
TV, cabinet, remote control, batteries, IR dongle (for use with set's TheaterLink IR capability), user's manual, and warranty information.

This TV is the best home theatre purchase i have ever made. The picture is sharp and beautiful. DVD's look incredible in their 16x9 widescreen format. This TV is the reason why i quit going to the theater to see movies. The settings are easy to use and set up and the picture in picture split screen is cool.
This TV is worth every penny of the price!

We purchased our new Toshiba HDMI model # 65H14 and NO ONE has the cables to connect it to Dish high deffinition system! We have looked in St. Louis and Potosi & Farmington! We have not been able to see what HDMI looks like yet! We had to purchase the Dish System 811 from Dish network but if you are a new subscriber you can have one FREE! Thanks for nothing so far! It is so new that no one carries the cables! I have an idea! Why not send the cables with the TV!?

1 out of 5 stars Toshiba has the WORST technical support   April 23, 2005

From the time I took the TV out of the box, I have had nothing but a headache. I called toshiba to let them know that I just took the unit out of the box and there are little black spots all over the screen. They instantly directed me to a local "privately owned" service center who sent out a technician to look at it. So far everything was going alright. The technician found out that the black marks was just dust on the inner side of the screen. The job was too big to dismantle the tv since it is 65 inches at my home so they had to arrange to pick it up to bring to the shop. This wasn't that big of a deal till they got the TV. Before they picked it up, the unit also began to turn itself off when it would like and would not respond to the remote or the buttons on the unit itself. I would have to totally unplug the tv and then plug back in for it to work again. So they picked it up and took it to their shop. A month and a half later they finally return it. Upon arrival I notice that the unit has quite a bit of physical damage to it. The fabric grill covering the speakers was torn, the power button on the tv was missing, and there was a gash taken out of the frame on the front side of the TV. The worst part of all was that there were still black marks on the screen and the tv has been powering itself down just like before they took it. So not only did the service people beat up a brand new TV, but they also did NOT fix the problem that they had said was perfectly good now!!! By this point, I was really angry. I called Toshiba and they just directed me back to the service center who just wanted to try to fix the unit again. This was absolutely ridiculous. The TV is only 2 months old and I have only had it for about a week and a half, never in fully functional order. I contacted Toshiba again telling them that I was totally unsatisfied with their service contractor and they would not do anything!!!!!!! This was a brand new unit which is now looking like a beat up Television many years old. Thank god I can still return the unit to the store where I purchased it. I will never buy Toshiba again after this situation!!!!!!! I have never been so unsatisfied with a company's custer dissatisfication. I want everyone to know that Toshiba's warranty service is just "fix the unit", the replacement will never occur, even if the TV isn't even a DAY OLD!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great Purchase!!   April 10, 2007
I bought this TV second hand from a man who only owned it 6 months. This is by far the best TV I have ever seen! Not only is the picture unbelievable, the sound is flat-out freakin awesome! Surround sound is built in and it sounds like it has a large subwoofer with the massive amounts of thundering bass it cranks out! The large screen is so nice in our home that it really seems like we are in a theatre. I guess there is only one problem...finding an entertainment center to house this beast! I wouldn't take too much from the last bad reviews since one sounds like just a bad customer service experience, and who cares about satillite TV anyway??? GET THIS TV, very nice!
