Very Disappointed July 23, 2007 24 out of 32 found this review helpful
I had high hopes for this mount. I have used it for about 3 weeks and am thoroughly fed up with it. If it was designed to be a set in place, non adjusting wall mount, it would be perfect. Solid metal, heavy duty lag bolts, etc...but as a tilting mount, it is horrendous! My 50" plasma drops like a rock to the 15 degree angle when the tighteners are loosened and practically requires 2 people to adjust the angle. I didn't research enough to know that a lot of the mounts in this price range have 1 touch tilt without loosening any tightener...the mounts BALANCE the display. The lack of a 15 degree upward angle makes for a big inconvenience also. It is very difficult to plug cords into the plasma once installed since you can't angle it up at all. The Peerless tilt mount(ST660) is like $13 less and has upward tilt plus self balancing tilt!!! Uninstalling this thing and putting in the new one is going to be such a pain, but I can't stand this one any longer. Buyer, beware...

I finally took the plunge to by a new HD TV. I decided on the Samsung LNT4065F 40" 1080p LCD HDTV (~35 pounds). I bought this mount because I have to locate the TV above my existing desk, so I needed the ability to either have it against the wall, or extended out in front of the desk. Installation was a breeze, I did it myself although you should really have two people (one to hold the mount, the other to screw the lag bolt in the stud). I was able to find the manual for this online before I bought it to verify all the dimensions.
PDR Mounts actually received my rebate form and actually called me to see if I was happy with the product. This is a refreshing difference from most rebate forms! Usually most companies may or may not send you a check back and I've never got a call back before. PDR went above and beyond most companies in this respect.
Minor (very minor) annoyance: When I went to level it, I found that the front mounting bracket frame was maybe 2-5 degrees tilted vs. the wall mount piece. So I ended up leveling in in reference to the front mounting bracket instead of the wall mount piece so the TV is perfectly level now.
--- Update! --- I just received the rebate check. This is amazing, since I received in just about 2 weeks. Never received a rebate so fast.
GREAT Customer Support! August 29, 2007 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I just finished a call to PDR for technical support regarding the installation of my 3760T mount (their website address is on the product). Not only was I impressed with the quick response to my initial call, but also with the fact that the rep was familiar with the 42" Hitachi plasma television that I also purchased from Amazon. More about the plasma mounting receiver on the television than the 3760T mount (the mounting instruction pamphlet is pretty straightforward if you are thinking about installing it yourself), his answer and suggestions gave me the confidence to continue with my own installation. At the end of our conversation he even reminded me to avail myself of the rebate - which I had forgotten about completely! It's really nice to know that there are still companies who believe in their products enough that they will go the extra yard to make you a believer too. Thanks!!!
Simple, Adjustable, Effective - Solid Steel! August 31, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This articulating mount was worth the investment! We purchased a Pioneer PDP-4270HD 42" Plasma and needed a mount. Considering we have a smaller living room (200 sqft) but many family members, we decided to go for an articulating mount instead of just a tilt model.
This mount was very simple to install. All hardware was included and it secured our 42" plasma safely. Surprisingly, it attached much more flush to the wall than we had thought (about 4" off the wall). There are also height adjustments that allow the TV to be mounted higher or lower (3 notches to choose from). Although we were nervous placing our very heavy plasma on something attached to the wall - it is very obvious with it's 3"+ thick steel and three large steel mounting bolts that it won't be going anywhere.
If we use our fingertips to give a gentle nudge or pull on the bottom of the TV, we can adjust it to where we want it (to the left or right). I've even moved it so that it faces another room (90 degree turn) and it's been very secure. Tilting it up and down can be done but it's a bit harder because you will need to tighten 2 knobs on either side once you've adjusted it to where you want it to be. To us this was not an issue (we like the angle of the screen set at one position anyway).
The company for this product has been very reliable with customer service. We called before our purchase and were immediately connected to not only a *live* but also a product-informed US-based tech who gave us good advice and suggestions. We've even recieved a follow-up call to see how it's worked.
Overall, an excellent experience and we're so pleased that we went with this American company and this particular mounting option.
Very Sturdy, Easy To Install, Superior Customer Service December 19, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I purchased this wall bracket to hold my new 50" Panasonic HDTV to the living room wall. A very well-made item, forged with heavy gauge steel, with a quite attractive finish. Hardest part was locating the studs behind my plaster walls, but eventually pulled it off after drilling some exploratory holes. You want to get the four lag bolts into the center of the studs and tighten down, but don't do what I did: I put too much torque on one bolt and tore the head right off! (yes, Virginia, there is a thing known as "too tight"). This was most likely due to using an extension on my socket wrench, which permitted me to really crank down on the sucker. Not a big deal really, as I simply drilled another hole nearby and ran another bolt through it (which, of course, I bought at a hardware store - the bracket does not come with spare lag bolts). After installation, I hung off of the bracket and it took my weight with not so much as a shimmy. My brand-spankin' new TV went on the wall nicely and is the envy of all that see it. Even better, PDR called me after getting my rebate paperwork and said the check was on its way, which I received about five days after mailing the forms in. Nice.
Do yourself a favor and get this wall bracket. It tilts as well, an added plus. You won't be disappointed. Last word of advice: do as others have suggested and connect all your cables to the back of the set before placing it on the bracket. Though you may be able to attach cables with the TV hung, your life will be infinitely more difficult this way. Some have suggested that the bracket be designed to tilt up as well, to allow for cable / wire installation while wall mounted. A good idea.
