The Sony HT-DDWG700 home theater system offers a great value in an optimum home theater. This 5.1 A/V receiver with 900 watts (RMS) and comes with an included iPod Digital Media Port (DMP) dock. This system is complemented with high quality 2-way front speakers and 8" active subwoofer. This system is equipped with the DMP interface and provides control for one of Sony's DMP accessories (additional accessories sold separately). In addition to DMP, the Portable Audio Enhancer integrates portable music into a traditional home theater system while providing enhanced audio quality. Finally, it is XM Connect & Play ready so you can listen to all the exciting stations available through XM satellite radio.

This is a quick and dirty review (Pictures included). The 700 is a nice affordable entry level HTS,
*Pro's
*iPhone compatible ( it will say that the accessory is not made to work with the iPhone) but it does work you can even change the songs pause and play with the included remote control. It will also charge the iPhone.
*Playstation 3 compatible via TOS (Digital Audio Cable {Optical})
*Customizable input name.
*Clear sound
*Powerful 900watts
*Looks sharp
*Headphone Surround
*DIGITAL MEDIA PORT
*XM Connect & Play Ready
*Con's
*Claims to have Digital Cinema Auto Calibration (Mic Included) it does NOT have one.
*Can hear a popping sound from time to time
*Universal remote control not so universal, will not work with any TV other then Sony.
*Universal remote control needs a very clear line of sight. Poor IR transmitter
*Only has one HDMI port
*Only has one TOS input
For the money it is well worth the price. I would buy it again if I need an entry level HT. This is not for the top of the line seekers. But for those of us that want 5.1 for a smaller living room or basement. I Gave it a 4 out of 5 stars for the price & content of the system. If anyone has a question you can p.m. me.

I have always loved Sony electronics. I was sooooooooooo surprised for the price I paid(which I caught on sale for less at a local retailer)that the sound quality was like a system that would cost hundreds more. It was simple to set-up and the i-Pod feature makes my music almost sound like I am using a Bose system. I like it soooooo much I have convinced my husband to get me another one as a gift to hook up in another room of the house.
You defintely won't be sorry for purchasing this home theatre system. It's fabulous!!!!!!!!!

I never got to see how this item worked. I set it up, plugged in the receiver and it wouldn't turn on. Very sad.:-(

This Home Theater is the whole package. Great prodcut for the price. There are only two minor problems. The size of the A/V reciever is a bit big. And one big flaw is that the Digital Media Port Adapter for the Ipod wont ADAPT to the IPHONE and I recently got one so i a am kind of upset with that. If theres some kind of adapter i can put it to the TDM IP10 it would be great.
Overall this product is very good and you get the great sony quality for a very reasonable price. I would buy it again .

I bought this system because i love having a more "theater" sound. I don't make a lot and have a very tight budget. I brought this system home, routed the wires through the basement, hooked everything up, and...... Well I tried to turn it on. The I/O switch on the front did nothing, the remote (batteries installed correctly, (thanks Sony Help Line, sarcasm) did nothing as well, The unit wouldn't turn on. After finding out that Sony had a crappy return policy, my step son hit the on/off button and it worked????????? Well for a while, after a week of not using it, I just tried turning it on again and nothing..... This just gets me more upset. I don't know what I'm going to do now but if I were you, stay away from this one.
