Product Description
The Quintet MicroSystem proves that size does matter. As the world's smallest horn-loaded surround sound system, the Quintet is a marvel of miniature technology that results in maximum output and real-world dynamics. The Klipsch exclusive MicroTractrix Horn, which drives the four creature-like, seven-inch tall satellite speakers and unassuming center channel, delivers a broad soundstage with smooth, yet powerful reproduction of movies and music.

Amazon.com Product Description
One of the smallest horn-loaded surround sound systems around, the Klipsch Synergy Quintet II home theater microsystem in black is a marvel of miniature technology that results in maximum output and real-world dynamics. The Klipsch MicroTractrix(TM) Horn drives the four 7" tall satellite speakers and unassuming center channel, delivering a broad soundstage with smooth, yet powerful reproduction of movies and music. Integrated into the front baffle to minimize diffraction, the horn delivers high output, low distortion, and broad dynamics.

All five speakers are a 2-way design. The four satellite speakers use a 0.75" neodymium magnet dome compression driver with the patented Klipsch MicroTractrix(TM) Horn and one 3.5" woofer. The included center speaker uses the same high-performance, high-frequency driver and 90 degree by 40 degree MicroTractrix(TM) Horn as the satellite speakers, adding two 3.5" woofers for superior dialogue reproduction and positioning. All speakers are magnetically shielded so you can place them near the TV without causing any picture distortion. Offering the ultimate in placement flexibility for your home cinema system, the Quintet II satellites incorporate a unique pedestal design that may be used as a stand for bookshelf placement, or easily swiveled for convenient wall mounting.

5 out of 5 stars Bose Killers   September 4, 2005

Hands down the best sattelites out there all the way up to $700. Bose sound small and cannot hit frequencies nearly as low. Don't be fooled, any speaker that is not two-way (has seperate tweeter and driver) will not produce good sound at all because a large driver physically cannot reproduce teh high treble frequencies, and small bose drivers may handle the highs well (what Bose is known for) there is a huge gap in the midrange that the sub tries to make up, but it can't. The quintets also handle more power (200 watts peak, 100 rms) than almost any other sattelites out there including big speakers. Klipsch is the manufacturer of ultra high end sound systems for the theaters and with the quintets you will see why Klipsch has a cult following among audiophiles.
Bottom line-incredible all around speakers for music and movies at an incredible price.

5 out of 5 stars Speaker Systerm Novice Does Well   January 16, 2007

The system was purchased as a birthday/Christmas present for my brother-in-law. I wasn't sure what he wanted, but I did the research and thought this was the best product in my price range. My bro was surprised and extremely pleased with the system. He hooked it up and we were all impressed with the sound coming from the small speakers.

4 out of 5 stars V good for price!   November 20, 2006

You'll get spacious, wonderful and clear highs, good medium frequencies, not a powerful bass. The sensitivity is not quite high so they will need a powerful or a high current receiver/amplifier.A subwoofer is a must; you need to buy it separately.Nice finish and craftmanship.

5 out of 5 stars Klipsch Redux   September 8, 2007

I have a pair of vintage Klipsch Heresy bookshelf speakers that produce wonderfully rich sound. Because of their size, and because I wanted a surround sound system, I decided to replace them in my living room. After a lot of research, I decided to stick to Klipsch, and opted for their Quintet II speakers. Boy am I glad I did.

I was worried that there would be a significant drop in quality from the Heresy to the Synergy Quintet. I told my wife not to expect too much from such small speakers.

Well, I had nothing to worry about. Since installing the speakers on four Sanus stands, we have listened to classical music on stereo radio, CD music, DVD movies, and football games. We are blown away. Plenty of volume with no distortion, clarity, depth and range. For the price, I cannot imagine getting better results than with these speakers.

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Buy These Now!!!!!!!!   December 31, 2007

I paid $300 shipping included for this speaker set and it was a bargin. These are superior to the top of the line Bose satelite systems in every way, for a fraction of the price. The Qunitet II is acutally a better speaker than the "III" series you can get a Best Buy right now. In the latest version they improved the monting brackets but installed cheaper tweeters and midrange drivers. I sold audio equipment and home theater for over 10 years and when paired with a good sub, this is a great $800 speaker system. (I bought the Polk PSW10 for only $100 on Amazon) Klipsch has a bright high end that is not harsh and the low frequency range is much better than most any at any price. I consider myself fortunate to have found this deal.
