Phoenix Gold's ATc6 six-inch speakers have a mounting depth of 3.375 inches and go right into your ceiling to combine out-of-the-way convenience with the audio needs of your home or business. A two-way speaker that has a one-inch center-mounted pivoting tweeter for those higher frequencies and a woofer for lower frequencies, the ATc6 offers a frequency response range of 40 Hz to 20 kHz. The speakers are designed to be moisture-resistant, with the woofers constructed of polypropylene and surrounded with Butyl rubber for durability. The paintable grill lets you adjust the speakers' appearance to your decor. The tweeters are treated with ferro fluid cooled voice coil for extended highs. With a power handling of 200 watts and a sensitivity of 90 dB, the ATc6 gives you quality and value, and is perfect for home theater use or for distributed sound. The ATc6 is packaged in pairs.

As an electrical contractor, I have installed hundreds of pairs of in wall / ceiling speakers over the last decade. They ranging from dirt cheap versions for $20 a pair to THX Rated Versions costing $1,600 a pair.
I have recently started installing the ATC6 speakers for modest whole house audio and Home Theater Surround Sound Speakers. Great value at the prices you can obtain them for now. The are a good solid made speaker with a complex crossover unlike the simple 1st order crossover typically found on speakers in this price point. Of the misc brands of inwall speakers I install "JBL, Pinnacle, Speco, Audio Source, Theil, Boston Acoustic, Polk Audio, Soundcraft..." these do stand out as a great value.
As with all open back in-wall or ceiling speakers, sound quality, especially bass will vary between every installation. This is because the area behind the speaker will vary each time "insulated vs, not insulated areas, different amounts of space" So it is hard to rate the complete sound quality of an such speaker from a single installation. Of the 30 or so pairs of ATC6's I have installed so far, nothing but thumbs up responses so far from customers ....

Bought 2 pair for media room for use with both HDTV surround system and conventional 2-channel stereo system. What an improvement over our floor model speakers (front channel) and bookshelf (rear channel) set-up. A must-have component, though, is a quality sub-woofer. Although the ATC6 does a great job with the high bass thru mid-range thru highs, the sub-woofer really completes the package. Installation in existing construction takes thought and careful planning; be ready to modify your plans as you encounter problems, and take your time.

If you are looking for decent speakers for a common home theater system, these are for you, I have had the Phoenix Gold speaker layout for over a year now and I have no complaints. Unless you are going for a professional setup with sound barrier walls and $5000 components, this series of speakers is for you, you will spend a heck of alot more money for speakers of lesser quality or that are too good for your room. Do not let the price tag scare you, YES you can have a quality speaker set up for under $300. I have a 5.1 system on a Yamaha 980 watt receiver and I will put it on full blast with no hesitation and no distortion. For the money you can not get a better product.
