5 out of 5 stars THE BEST DVD PLAYER!!!   January 26, 2007

This has been an exellent dvd player and I am thrilled that I decided to pick this one up. I have had no problems with picture or sound quality and love all of the features for the price and I have owned it for 6 months!

There is a Magnavox dvd player that costs about five bucks more an it doesn't come with the option of playing your cds and mp3 on the player as this one is loaded with features!! I have bought so many dvd players in the past to go bad after only a few months of use so I am overly exited about the durability of this one, as I usually purchase more expensive brand name electronics. This is a sleek design which I love and is very compact! I also love that the dvd feels sturdy when you place it in the compartment as I have seen some other dvd players to feel wobbly and not durable in the dvd compartment and seems as though you will lose your dvd inside of the player.

I am a new lover of Durabrand even though it is not a high name brand product but the quality has been exellent for me!! I lost the remote to this player last month and I called Durabrand up and they sent me another one out without any qustions asked. I have another dvd player in my bedroom and I also lost the remote to that one and when I called there customer service they tried to charge me almost the same price for the remote as the dvd player cost. I expected to pay some fee for the replacement Durabrand remote but they shipped it out to me and didn't charge me! All they asked was the model number and my name and address and I had my remote 3 days later. Thanks Durabrand!!

This dvd player also has a "last" button and a "next" button on it in case you lose your remote and you have box set dvds like I do, you can watch all of the shows without needing the remote. I am lazy and don't like to get up and so it is much more convenient to have a remote control.

My last dvd player did not have any "next" button and when I lost the remote it was basically worthless to watch box sets on, because you would have to watch the same thing over and over again. For everything that you get with this player it is definitely worth it to give it a try and you wont be sorry. I paid only 27.99 for mine at Walmart and it was the last one left on the rack.

2 out of 5 stars Good video, poor Audio   September 14, 2006

I had a Philips 642 DVD player, that after 1.5 years of life gave up the ghost. I purchased this DVD player as a replacement. At first it seemed great. Nice and small (I don't mind top loading), it had Coaxial out, great. When I first hooked it up I didn't hook up the Coaxial audio, I just used the normal left/right RCA audio out. I noticed when watching DVD's the audio would drop out. I played around with the audio settings for the player, and it didn't seem to do anything. I then hooked up the Coaxial, and found the drops were no longer there, however the audio would randomly "pop" during playback. Drove me crazy, found myself waiting for the pop to come, rather than pay attention to the movie. Too bad, because otherwise this was a great player.

A really good small DVD player. Has all the good video interfaces, composite, "S", and component. The one I have has performed well over a number of hours of testing. The price is a bit high--I have seen it for much less at Walmart.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product but is not Multizone   March 25, 2008

I Highly recommend this Item, but the sellers must be accurate with the description of this product, because the product is neither Multi-zone nor Multiregion,so the customers can confuse getting the wrong DVD Player because of the wrong description, this DVD Player Plays only Region 1 Format .

I hope this information Help the Customers to Avoid confusions

Thanks

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for the price   February 4, 2007

On a recent trip when I needed to show some DVDs on a standard hotel TV I discovered the DVD player I'd taken along for that purpose was malfunctioning so I made a quick trip to the local Walmart and found this unit for under $30. It was easy to set up and use without having to refer to the manual which I didn't bother looking at until several weeks later, and the quality of the video and audio was much better than I expected from such a low priced unit.

It's a top loader so it won't do in a tight space, nor can anything be stacked on top of it. The only control I had trouble with was the Skip button which doubles as a FF button depending on how long you hold it down which sometimes makes it difficult to move forward to where you want to go. That's only a minor annoyance though and not enough to keep me from giving this surprisingly potent little unit 5 stars.

The owner's manual says it will play all audio and mp3 recorded discs as well as CD-R, CD-RW and JPEG photo discs. I haven't tried all those features yet, I use mine strictly for DVDs and it has done admirably with both commmercial and homemade DVDs, even those made on DVD+RW discs. It's a feature packed little unit that is well worth considering.
