Don't bother July 22, 2006 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this camera. My 6YO wanted it and it was only fifteen bucks and looked good in the box. However, the cons outweigh the pros:
Cons: Only hold 20 pics Pictures are about 2" x 2" picture quality is not good impossible to see thru the view finder so hard to get pictures of what you want If you drop camera, battery falls out and pictures are lost I get higher quality pics from my cell phone. There is no flash
Pros: Camera is small 6 YO thinks it's cool
I did not have any issues installing the software or downloading the pictures, the instructions are clear, I just wish the pictures were. But my 6YO is happy with it so we'll keep it.
There are better deals for the same money.
What a piece of junk! August 14, 2006 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
Thanks to a whopping misprint that should never have passed QC, half the pages of my "manual" are blank, and the Philips website does not seem to acknowledge the existence of this product. Nice. However, it is easy enough to get it all working. After which you soon discover that the camera is slightly better than nothing, but should really be a prize in a cereal box, not a product that you buy in a store.
It's OK November 3, 2006 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
Well I got this today mailed. The thing is be careful when you cut open the package because otherwise you will break the software CD and that's exactly what happened to me. It is cool. There was a review rumor which said that the camera only held 20 pictures. That's right well sometimes. You can make high resolution and that gives you twenty photos. You can make it 81. The most is 243 pictures which is a lot. Although, the more pictures that can be stored. The worse the quality is. If you are going on a two week trip with no laptop or a place to load the photos to you should use the 81 photo setting. You can't go forever and only take 20 pictures. Just to be warned you are screwed without the software disc. [...] And in the search box type in " Photo2Album " You will then be able to download the program so you can connect with the camera. If you use a windows 98 or 2000 or XP or ME you are fine. If you use an apple that won't work with this camera. Linux or anything else doesn't work. It's so small!
Philips Keychain Digital Camera November 19, 2006 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I actually love this camera. For $15 it was a real steal. Pros: Small, many modes, keychain, if you have it in school teachers think it is just a toy (rather than a prohibited camera), takes great nice pictures, adorable!! And very durable. (I was tossing it around, and dropped it on the concrete, it borke into peices, but is extremely easy to put back together and reuse. Cons: If you take out the batteries it loses pictures, takes small pictures, easy to break (but easy to put back together)
The little peak hole is to look into from afar. If you put your eye up to it, it is blurry.
Very well developed for a piece of crap February 12, 2006 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Very simple, handy tool to keep in your glove compartment; It is the best design for a crappy webcam I have ever seen. The only true con is that the memory requires battery power. If your battery fails, you lose your evidence or outing snapshots.
Tips: I wouldn't use the included photo albulm. Just uninstall "Photo2Albulm" from the start menu after you have finished installing everything. Leave the CD in until you have plugged in the camera. Another driver is installed upon plugging in the USB.
