Very easy to install. December 10, 2006 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Just got this to mount my new Mitsubishi DH1000U. I needed something that would let me mount my projector to a sloped ceiling, and this worked perfectly. Only took me about 30 minutes to attach this to the projector, mount it on the ceiling, and adjust it. Really easy to install and adjust. This assembly is heavier duty than it appears in the pictures. All the joints are easy to adjust and are locked in place with pre-installed Allen head lock screws. Once the lock screws are tightened, the mount is completely rigid. They even include the Allen wrench in the box. All you need is a drill with a 5/32 bit for the 3 heavy duty screws that hold it to the ceiling joist, and a Phillips screwdriver (I used a driver bit in a cordless drill). The way this is designed, you could use it to mount a projector to a ceiling or to a wall.
Simple and solid August 7, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this to hold my HD1000U and it is working great. The directions are worthless. Putting it together based on the picture on the box was about as good. But it was so simple you really don't need the directions. It was as easy as finding a stub, drilling 3 holes and screw it in. Then mount the projector to the other end and attach the two sides. It will bend any direction you want and the extention bar is only needed if you want the 12 inch drop. I thought I would need it, but was able to install it without it. It looks nice and works great.
For projectors with 3 mounting holes January 24, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a good mount but it is designed for projectors that only need three mounting points. many projectors need 4 mounting points (one in each corner) this will make this mount difficult to us....
Home theater July 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this projector mount for a home theater install. It is easy to install and works great. The reason I didnt give it a 5 is because 1 of the screws they provided me with was not threaded, it looked like a flat nail with a philips head and I was unable to find a screw with a similar thread size (metric.) I ended up improvising by getting a bolt that fit into a larger hole and using two nuts to do the fine adjustments.
My projector is an Optoma HD 70.
Solid product February 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Solid construction. Has about 6 different pivot points that can be adjusted to accommodate almost any installation. One thing that I did that was probably out of the ordinary was that I actually mounted the unit to an 18 inch piece of 2x6. I have a drop ceiling so I have access to the bare joists. The 18 inch 2x6 fits perfectly between the joists. Then I attached 2 small pieces of wood to either joist. This allows me to lift the projector with the 18 inch piece of wood and simply rest it on the lip of each small piece of wood. This type of installation allows me to remove the projector and mount from it's resting place without have to use a single tool.
