Product Description This adapter allows the use of Canon lenses with an FD mount to be used on Canon EOS camera bodies. The lenses will meter o.k. but will only focus manually. There is a 1.3x magnification factor and requires a one-stop increase in exposure.

For old time lens owners, this works well January 25, 2007 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
This item is a must buy if you want to use those old FD lenses again!
I purchased this adapter in order to use a few old FD lenses from the 1980s that I had sitting around in my old film camera bag. They'd been collecting dust since I finally got around to purchasing a digital Rebel which put me into the EOS/EF line of lenses.
This adapter works great! If there is any problem with blur or messing with depth of field, I haven't noticed it to any degree. With my 1.6 digital crop, I am unaware of any light falloff or color distortion at the edges of the lens circle, but form what I have seen through my camera, things look very well! A person using a film EOS body may have something different to say, and I would hope one speaks up if they've purchased this item. If you're using a digital camera, however, you should have no problems.
One note of concern is that old equipment was made much differently than modern equipment. Pop an old FD lens on your EOS body and you'll realize how much heavier things were in the 1980s! A lens built with brass components is a surprise after becoming used to the plastic and light metal components of modern lenses! Make sure your camera body can handle the weight before taking it out on a trip. Or, be ready to cradle the lens with your focusing hand all shoot long.

All the old FD lens that were in my drawer have now found a place back in my camera bag! Now the only problem I have is my camera bag is to heavy.
Great option January 25, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm using it to join a Canon Rebel Xti and an old Canon zoom lens. This is a great option for those who don't like letting old lenses go to waste. While I agree with the other reviewers that the combination can be a little cumbersome, it beats having to buy a new lens. Great product!
FD - EF adapter July 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The unit worked as described without issue. However the unit is difficult to remove from the lens once its on. Not that big of an issue for me, others my find it extremely problematic.
The Adapter that Doesn't August 12, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wouldn't it be great if you could use Canon FD lenses (cameras that use film) with a Canon digital EOS? That's what this adapter promises, but fails miserably. Not even a poor loose fitting. Put it together and the lens falls off! Do not buy this item!
